Introduction of Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana: A Brief Insight
- It is a fact that the income of farmers in India is very unstable and depends on a variety of factors such as crop production, weather, sale of crop, etc.
- To stabilize the income of farmers, the Central Government started the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme in the year 2019, in which financial assistance of Rs. 6,000/- per year will be provided to farmers.
- But the Maharashtra Government thinks that this amount is not enough for the State Farmers to cope with income stability.
- So with an objective to support farmers financially to increase their income, the Maharashtra Government started a new scheme.
- The name of the Scheme is “Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Scheme,” which was started in the year 2023.
- This scheme is implemented by the Agriculture Department of the Maharashtra Government.
- Maharashtra Government will also provide the same amount of Rs. 6,000/- per year to farmers of the State under the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Scheme.
- Financial Assistance will be disbursed among farmers in 3 equal installments of Rs. 2,000/- each.
- Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana installment amounts will be disbursed in the below-mentioned month directly in farmers’ bank account :-
- First Installment of Rs. 2,000/- :- In April to July.
- Second Installment of Rs. 2,000/- :- In August to November.
- Third Installment of Rs. 2,000/- :- In December to March.
- So with the help of Maharashtra Government’s Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana, Farmers will get a total of Rs. 12,000/- per year financial assistance.
- Registration under this scheme is not needed; every farmer who is receiving benefits of PM Kisan Yojana will automatically get the assistance of Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Scheme directly in their Aadhaar-linked bank account.
- Government of Maharashtra disbursed Rs. 8,893/- Crore in the bank account of around 97,26,544 farmers under this scheme.
- It is to be estimated that families of around 1 crore 15 lakh farmers will get the benefit of Rs. 6,000/- per year Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana of the Maharashtra Government.
- Government also launched the Official Website of Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Scheme through which beneficiary farmer can check their Beneficiary Status and get their Registration Number.
- This scheme is also well known by some other popular names which are “Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana” or “नमो शेतकरी महासम्मान निधि योजना” or “नमो शेतकरी महासन्मान निधी योजना”.
- Beneficiary Farmer can contact the District Office of the Agriculture Department of the District Agriculture Office in case any help or assistance is required regarding Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Maharashtra Government will provide the following benefits to all farmers who are registered under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana under its Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana :-
- Yearly Financial Assistance will be provided to Farmers.
- Farmers will get Rs. 6,000/- per year.
- Financial Assistance will be disbursed in 3 installments of Rs. 2,000/- each.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Yearly Assistance of Rs. 6,000/- per year under Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of scheme :-
- Permanent Resident Farmers of Maharashtra are Eligible.
- Beneficiary Farmer should have Agricultural Cultivable Land.
- Registration under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a must.
- Tenant Farmers are also Eligible to get Assistance.
Documents Required to be Attached
- Farmers will have to submit the following documents in order to avail the benefit of yearly assistance of Rs. 6,000/- under the Maharashtra Government under Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana :-
- Mobile Number.
- PM Kisan Yojana Registration Number.
- Documents related to Agricultural Land.
- Beneficiary Farmer Aadhaar Card.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Government of Maharashtra didn’t provide any separate application process to apply for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana.
- All Farmers who are already registered under the Central Government’s PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme are eligible to get yearly assistance of Rs. 6,000/- under the Maharashtra Government’s Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana.
- Farmers will get financial assistance in 3 equal installments in the same Aadhaar-linked bank account in which they are already receiving the benefits from the Central Government.
- Farmers can contact their area’s District Agricultural Officer (DAO) in case any help or assistance is required regarding Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana.
How to Check the Beneficiary Status
- Government of Maharashtra launched the Official Portal of Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana through which Beneficiary Farmers can check their Status.
- Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana Beneficiary Status can be checked through Registration Number or Aadhaar-registered Mobile Number.
- Visit the Website and Click on Beneficiary Status.
- Fill Registration Number or Aadhaar Linked Mobile Number.
- Website will verify the Registration Number or Mobile Number through OTP authentication.
- After OTP Verification, the Farmer Payment Status of Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana will be displayed.
How to Know the Registration Number
- If any beneficiary farmer forgot their Registration Number of Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana, then they can easily recover it.
- Aadhaar registered Mobile Number or Aadhaar Number is required to recover the Registration Number.
- Visit Website and Fill in Aadhaar Card Number or Aadhaar Registered Mobile Number.
- Fill the Captcha and Click on Get Aadhaar OTP.
- Mobile Number or Aadhaar Card Number will be verified through OTP.
- Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana Registration Number will be displayed and also sent to the registered mobile number of the beneficiary farmer.
