Introduction of Rajasthan Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana: A Brief Insight
The Rajasthan Government launched the Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana on 16 January 2025 to encourage girl students to pursue technical education and reduce transportation challenges faced while travelling to colleges and institutions. The official name of the scheme is the Kalpana Chawla Girl Electric Two-Wheeler Distribution Scheme.
The scheme is implemented by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan. Under this initiative, eligible girl students pursuing Engineering and Diploma courses receive a free electric scooter to make commuting safer, easier, and more affordable.
Along with the electric scooty, beneficiaries also receive a helmet, registration certificate, and one-year insurance cover. Every year, the Rajasthan Government plans to distribute 500 electric two-wheelers to eligible students across the state.
Girl students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, MBC, SBC, EWS, and General categories can apply, provided they satisfy all the prescribed eligibility conditions. Students whose annual family income exceeds Rs. 8 lakh are not eligible under the scheme.
Girl students who are already receiving financial assistance under other Rajasthan Government schemes can still apply. However, beneficiaries of the Kalibai Bheel Medhavi Scooty Yojana or the Devnarayan Scooty Vitran Yojana cannot avail benefits under this scheme.
Eligible girl students can submit their applications online through the Rajasthan Single Sign-On (SSO) Portal or visit the nearest e-Mitra Centre for assistance with the online application process. Government of Rajasthan sets the following ineligibility criteria of Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana, if any girl student falls under any of the below-mentioned category, then she is not eligible to receive a free electric scooter under this scheme :-
- Beneficiary of Kalibai Bheel Scooty Scheme.
- Beneficiary of Devnarayan Scooty Scheme.
- If the Annual Income is more than Rs. 8 Lakh per year.
- If not a student of Engineering or a Diploma Course.

Step 1: Visit the Rajasthan SSO Portal and register using your Jan Aadhaar Number or Gmail account. If you are unable to apply online yourself, you can also visit your nearest e-Mitra Centre, where the operator will help you complete the registration and application process.
