The Madhya Pradesh Government launched the Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana in June 2012 to help senior citizens fulfill their lifelong wish of visiting famous and sacred religious places across India. The Directorate of Religious Trust and Endowment implements this scheme and manages all travel arrangements efficiently. Under this initiative, the government organises free pilgrimage journeys to major religious destinations across the country through special trains, flights, and AC buses, ensuring a safe and comfortable travel experience for elderly citizens.

The scheme provides complete support throughout the journey, including breakfast, meals, and drinking water for all beneficiaries. The government also arranges free accommodation at the destination so that senior citizens can travel without any financial burden. It covers all travel-related expenses, which means beneficiaries do not have to spend any money during the entire pilgrimage. This approach not only promotes religious tourism but also ensures dignity, comfort, and peace of mind for elderly citizens.

Any interested person aged 60 years or above, and 58 years or above in case of women, can apply under this scheme. Applicants with 60% or more disability can apply without any minimum or maximum age limit. The Madhya Pradesh Government provides the Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana application form at key government offices such as the Tehsil Office, Collector Office, and the District Office of the Religious Trust and Endowment Directorate.
