Introduction of Rajasthan Gargi Puraskar Yojana: A Brief Insight
- Rajasthan Government has done a remarkable job in the field of education for girls.
- A lot of educational welfare schemes for girl students are currently operating in Rajasthan, which yield commendable results.
- One of the major welfare schemes is “Gargi Puraskar Yojana”.
- This scheme was operational from 1998.
- This scheme is implemented by the Education Department of the Rajasthan Government with the help of the Balika Shiksha Foundation.
- The main objective of the government behind starting this scheme is to encourage girl to complete their higher secondary education and pursue higher education.
- Gargi Puraskar Yojana of the Rajasthan Government is basically for meritorious girl students of Class 10th who secured 75% or more marks.
- One-time financial assistance will be provided to girl students when they take admission in Class 11th and further continue for Class 12th.
- Rs. 3,000/- in Class 11th and Rs. 3,000/- in Class 12th will be provided to beneficiary girl students under Gargi Puraskar Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan.
- Apart from financial assistance, an incentive (protsahan) certificate will also be provided to the beneficiary girl student.
- Girl students will have to separately apply in each Class, Class 11th is named as Gargi Puraskar Yojana First Installment, and Class 12th is named as Gargi Puraskar Yojana Second Installment.
- ShalaDarpan Portal’s Balika Shiksha Protsahan Tab has a facility to apply online for both installments of the Gargi Awards Scheme of the Government of Rajasthan.
- Girl students can contact the District Education Officer in case of any help or assistance required regarding the Gargi Puraskar Scheme.
- If a girl student somehow topped her district in Class 12th, then she can apply for Indira Priyadarshini Puraskar Yojana in which Rs. 1 lakh and a scooter will be provided.
- And if a girl student opts for an Engineering or Diploma course, then apply for the Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana.
- Rajasthan Government will also provide financial assistance of Rs. 5,000/- under Balika Protsahan Puraskar Yojana to those girl students who secured 75% or more than 75% in their Class 12th board examinations
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Government of Rajasthan will provide the following benefits to all eligible girl students under its Gargi Puraskar Yojana who secure 75% or more marks in their Class 10th Examination and are currently studying in Class 11th or Class 12th Class :-
- Meritorious Girl Students will get one-time financial assistance.
- Class 11th Girl Student will get Rs. 3,000/-
- Class 12th Girl Student will get Rs. 3,000/-
- Incentive Certificate will also be provided to the Beneficiary Girl Student.
- Girl Student will have to apply separately every year.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- One Time Financial Assistance of Rs. 3,000/- each in Class 11th and Class 12th will be provided to only those students who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Rajasthan Government’s Gargi Puraskar Yojana :-
- Only Girl Students of Rajasthan are Eligible to Apply.
- Girl Student should have secured at least 75% Marks in the Class 10th Examination.
- Girl Student should have passed their Class 10th from :-
- Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer Rajasthan.
- Model Schools situated in Rajasthan.
- Sanskrit Schools situated in Rajasthan.
- Girl Students should currently be a student of Class 11th or Class 12th.
Documents Required to be Attached
- Beneficiary Girl Student will have to upload the following documents at the ShalaDarpan Portal at the time of applying for financial assistance under the Gargi Puraskar Yojana of Rajasthan Government :-
- Family Jan Aadhaar Card/ Bhamashah Card.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- Color Photograph.
- Residence Proof of Rajasthan.
- Aadhaar Card of Girl Beneficiary.
- Class 10th Marksheet and Certificate.
- Class 10th Roll Number.
- Mobile Number and Email.

- Eligible Girl Students can apply for Gargi Puraskar Yojana in 2 ways, which are mentioned below :-

Online Application Process
- The easiest way to apply for the Gargi Puraskar Yojana financial assistance is through the Online Application Form.
- Online Application Form of the Gargi Puraskar Yojana is available on the Integrated ShalaDarpan Portal of the Rajasthan Government.
- ShalaDarpan Portal is an integrated platform in which various types of sub-portals are merged and all are related to students only.
- The beneficiary Girl Student will have to choose the Integrated Balika Shiksha Protsahan Tab on the ShalaDarpan Portal.
- Once the Balika Shiksha Protsahan Portal is opened, then Class 11th Girl Students will have to choose the Gargi Puraskar Class 10th First Installment Apply, and Class 12th Girl Students will have to choose Gargi Puraskar Class 10th Second Installment Apply.
- The last date to apply for the Gargi Puraskar Yojana of the Rajasthan Government is 21-03-2025.
- An online application form for the Gargi Puraskar Scheme will appear in which the girl student will have to fill in the personal details, contact details, school details, bank account details, and Class 10th Details.
- Upload all the required documents on the portal.
- Review the filled details and click on the submit button to submit them.
- Take a printout of the filled application and save it for future reference.
- Submitted Application Form and Documents will be verified by the respective schools and forwarded it to Balika Shiksha Foundation for further approval.
- After final approval, financial assistance of Rs. 3,000/- will be transferred in the bank account of girl beneficiary.
- Application Status of the Gargi Puraskar Yojana can be checked by contacting the Balilka Shiksha Foundation.
Offline Application Process
- Girl Students can also apply to avail the benefits of Gargi Puraskar Yojana through the Offline Application Form.
- Gargi Puraskar Yojana Offline Application Form is available free of cost at the below-mentioned offices :-
- Respective School Administrative Office.
- Balika Shiksha Foundation Office.
- District Education Officer’s Office.
- Collect the Application Form of the Gargi Puraskar Scheme and fill it carefully without making any mistakes.
- Attach all the required documents with the application form.
- It is mandatory to verify the application form from the respective school in which the girl student is currently studying.
- Now, submit the Gargi Puraskar Yojana Application Form with all the attached documents in the same office from which the application was collected by girl student.
- The official will provide the acknowledgement receipt to the girl student after accepting the application form.
- A list of eligible girl students will be made after preliminary verification.
- Financial Assistance will be transferred directly in the bank account of girl students after the final approval.
- Beneficiary Girl Student will have to apply separately for Class 11th and Class 12th to get one-time financial assistance under the Gargi Puraskar Yojana.
