Introduction of Odisha Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana is the most prominent scheme of the Odisha Government.
• It was launched in the year 2024.
• Earlier, the name of this scheme was “Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana”.
• The BJP-led Odisha Government changed the name of this scheme to Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana” in 2024.
• The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to students so that they can purchase a laptop for themselves and include technology in their studies.
• Department of Higher Education of the Odisha Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Odisha Government will provide financial assistance to eligible students to purchase a laptop.
• Rs. 30,000/- financial assistance under Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana will be provided to meritorious Class 12th passed students for the purchase of a laptop.
• Every year Odisha Government will disburse financial assistance for a laptop among 15,000 meritorious students who have passed class 12^th.
• Aadhaar Card is mandatorily required at the time of applying for the Laptop Yojana of the Odisha Government.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Class 12^th passed meritorious Students who successfully secured their name in the merit list of the Department of Higher Education will get the following benefits under Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana :-
  • Financial Assistance will be provided to purchase a Laptop.
  • Rs. 30,000/- will be provided to the Student for Laptop Purchase.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 30,000/- for the purchase of a laptop will only be provided to those beneficiary students who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Odisha Government’s Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana :-
  • Permanent Resident Students of Odisha are Eligible.
  • Beneficiary Student should have passed their Annual Higher Secondary Exam/ Class 12^th which is conducted by CHSE, Odisha.
  • Upshashtri Examination passed Students which is conducted by Shree Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya (SJSV) are also Eligible to apply.
  • Class 12^th should have passed in Arts, Science, Commerce, Vocational or Sanskrit Stream.
  • Students who secured their place on the merit list are only eligible to apply.

Documents Required to be Attached

• Beneficiary Students will have to upload the following documents on the portal at the time of applying for financial assistance for the purchase of a laptop under Odisha Government’s Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana :-
  • Residence Proof of Odisha.
  • Aadhaar Card of the Applicant Student.
  • Certificate of Caste. (If Applicable)
  • Bank Account Details and IFSC Code.
  • Copy of Student Identity Card.
  • Admit Card of Class 12^th.
  • Marksheet or Certificate of Class 12^th.
  • Mobile Number and Email.
  • Recent Color Passport Size Photograph.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Department of Higher Education will collect the list of all meritorious students from the respective boards who conducted the Class 12th board examinations.
• A list of students will be prepared block-wise, district-wise and category-wise.
• The department will preferably select those students who secured a minimum of 60% marks in their board examination.
• Students who successfully secured their name in the merit list of Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana can apply for Laptop DBT through the Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of the Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana is available on the Official Scholarship Portal of the Odisha Government.
• Scroll down a little bit and click on Apply Now.
  
• Registration on the portal will be done through the Aadhaar Card Number, which is further verified through OTP authentication.
  
• Fill in Name, Gender, Date of Birth and choose your password in the registration form.
• Login with the help of your Aadhaar Number and chosen Password.
  
• Fill Godavarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana (Laptop DBT) Online Application Form.
• Upload all the required documents on the portal.
• Check the filled details once and submit the form if all is correct.
• Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
• The department will scrutinize the received application form and documents.
• Students found to be eligible for laptop assistance under the Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana of the Odisha Government will receive financial assistance of Rs. 30,000/- directly into their bank account.
• Application Status of Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana can be checked through Aadhaar Number or Application Number.
  
• Application is live and students can apply for laptop assistance under this scheme from 01-07-2025.
• Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana Last Date to Apply is 25-07-2025.
