Under the Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana of the Uttar Pradesh Government, financial assistance will be provided to couples with disabilities for their marriage, ranging from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 35,000/-.

Introduction of Uttar Pradesh Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Uttar Pradesh Government launched very important welfare scheme for disabled in the year 1997 named “Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana” alias “शादी-विवाह प्रोत्साहन पुरस्कार योजना”.
• Government’s main objective behind starting this type of welfare scheme is to support the disabled community financially at the time of their marriage so that they can easily start their new life with dignity.
• Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department of Uttar Pradesh Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
• UP Government will provide financial assistance to a married disabled couple under its Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana.
• The government divides this scheme into 3 sections and disburses the amount of financial assistance for marriage accordingly.
• In first section, the financial assistance is Rs. 15,000/- if the groom of the bride is disabled.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 20,000/- will be provided under the second section of the UP Marriage Incentive Reward Scheme, if the bride is disabled.
• And in the last section, if both the couple is disabled and happily married, then Uttar Pradesh Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 35,000/- under its Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana, aka Incentive on Marrying Handicap People.
• Financial Assistance provided under this scheme will be provided only once.
• Government also sets some other eligibility conditions in which the upper age limit should be 45 years, marriage registration is mandatory and the percentage of disability should be 40%.
• UP Government provides an online facility through which disabled beneficiaries can apply for marriage assistance under Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana.
• Shaadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana Online Application Form of UP Government is available and live on “https://divyangjan.upsdc.gov.in/”.
• Beneficiaries can visit, apply and avail the benefit of financial assistance for marriage under this scheme.
• Contact the District Disabled Empowerment Officer’s Office in case any help or assistance is required regarding Uttar Pradesh Government’s Marriage Incentive Scheme for Disabled People.
• In the future, if the couple is expecting a child, then it is advisable to register for PM Matru Vandana Yojana in which the central government is providing financial assistance for the birth of a newborn child.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Uttar Pradesh Government, under its Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojan,a will provide the following benefits to disabled beneficiaries of the State for their marriage :-
  

  Financial Assistance will be provided for the marriage of Disabled Persons. The amount of financial assistance provided under this scheme as follows :- Rs. 15,000/- :- If Groom is Disabled. Rs. 20,000/- :- If Bride is Disabled. Rs. 35,000/- :- If both, Groom and Bride is Disabled.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance for marriage will be provided to only those applicants who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Uttar Pradesh Government’s Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana :-
  

  A couple should be a Permanent Resident or Resident of Uttar Pradesh for a minimum 5 Years. The age of the couple at the time of marriage should be :- Girl/ Women :- Not below 18 years and Not above 45 years. Boy/ Men :- Not below 21 years and Not above 45 years. Disability Percentage should be a minimum 40%. A couple should not be an Income Tax Payee. Marriage Registration is mandatory.

Documents Required to be Attached

• Beneficiary Disabled Applicant will have to upload the following documents on the portal and submit them as a hard copy also at the time of applying for marriage assistance under Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana of Uttar Pradesh Government :-
  • Joint Photo of a Couple.
  • Marriage Certificate.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Proof of Age of a Couple.
  • Disability Certificate issued by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Joint Bank Account Details.
  • Proof of Residence in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Aadhaar Card of Couple.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Married Disabled Couple in which both the couple or any one person is disabled can apply for financial assistance for marriage under Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
• There is a dedicated portal established by the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities of Uttar Pradesh Government through which beneficiaries can apply online.
• The URL of the website is “https://divyangjan.upsdc.gov.in/”.
• Directly open the portal and click on “Registration/ Application”. (पंजीकरण/आवेदन करने हेतु नीचे क्लिक करें)
  
• A separate window of Uttar Pradesh Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana Online Application Form will open in which the beneficiary applicant will have to fill the following details :-
  • Type of Disability and Percentage.
  • Details of Disabled Beneficiary.
  • Address Details.
  • Marriage Ceremony Details.
• Upload all the required documents, like Disability Certificate and the Marriage Certificate on the portal.
• Check the filled details and click on the submit button to submit the application form.
• Beneficiary Applicant will have to take a printout of the submitted application form, attach the hard copy of the documents and submit it in the Office of District Disability Empowerment Office.
• It is mandatory to submit the hard copies within 15 days of online submission.
• Respective Officials will verify the application form and documents and select the eligible beneficiaries for marriage assistance under the Shaadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana of UP Government.
• Selected Disabled Couple Beneficiaries will receive the amount of financial assistance directly in their joint bank account.
• Applicant can check their Shadi Vivah Protsahan Puraskar Yojana Application Status Online with the help of Registration Number.
