Introduction of Rajasthan Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana: A Brief Insight

• During their education. Students often leave their homes and move to other cities to pursue better and higher academic opportunities.
• The students usually rent a room or stay in a paying guest house, which significantly increases their overall expenses, along with the cost of education and daily living.
• Keeping these things in mind, the Rajasthan Government started the Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana for economically weaker students.
• The main objective of the government behind starting this scheme is to support those students financially who are pursuing their studies far from their native town/ village and are currently living in rented accommodation.
• Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Rajasthan Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,000/- per month for a period of 10 months will be provided under Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana to those students who are pursuing their graduation or post graduation from a college situated within Rajasthan.
• Students belonging to SC, ST, MBC, OBC and EWS categories are only eligible to apply for financial assistance of Rs. 2,000/- per month under this scheme.
• It is mandatory for a student to live in a rented accommodation to be eligible for financial assistance under this scheme.
• Both Online and Offline mode is available to apply for assistance under the Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana of the Rajasthan Government.
• Students can apply online by themselves on the Sign On Portal, and the application can also be submitted by visiting the nearest E-Mitra Centre.
• Beneficiary Students can further apply for the “CM Anuprati Coaching Scheme” in which free-of-cost coaching for competitive examinations will be provided.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Rajasthan Government through its Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana will provide the following benefits to all eligible boy students who are currently living in rented accommodation and studying in any undergraduate or postgraduate course within the state :-
  • Per Month Assistance will be provided to Selected Students.
  • Each Beneficiary Student will receive financial assistance of Rs. 2,000/- per month for 10 months.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,000/- per month will be provided to only those students who fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteria of the Government of Rajasthan’s Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana :-
  

  Permanent Resident Students of Rajasthan can apply for this Scholarship. Boys Students are only Eligible to apply. The beneficiary student should be currently studying in an Undergraduate or Post Graduate Course from Government College within Rajasthan. Students should be residing in Rented Accommodation. Applicant Student should belong to any one of the following social category :- Scheduled Tribe. (ST) Scheduled Caste. (SC) Other Backwards Class (OBC) Most Backward Class (MBC) Economically Weaker Section. (EWS) Benefits of the scheme will be provided for a maximum of 5 years only. The Family Annual Income of the student should be :- Up to Rs. 2,50,000/- for SC, ST and MBC Category. Up to Rs. 1,50,000/- for OBC Category. Up to Rs. 1,00,000/- for EWS Category.

Ineligibility Criteria of the Scheme

• If any student falls within the ambit of any one of the following categories, then he is not eligible to apply for financial assistance under the Government of Rajasthan’s Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana :-
  • If the family’s annual income is more than the fixed one.
  • If the student is studying in a non-government or private college.
  • If Student is reside within the limits of the municipal corporation/ council or municipality of the city where the Government college is located.
  • If the student’s parents or guardian has their own residential house in the same city or place where the student studies.
  • If Student have already availed the benefit of the scheme for five consecutive years.
  • If the student is staying in a hostel provided by the Government College.

Documents Required to be Attached

• Beneficiary Student will be required to submit the following documents at the time of applying online for the Rajasthan Government’s Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana :-
  • Residence Certificate of Rajasthan.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Regular Study Certificate.
  • Rent Agreement.
  • Marksheet of the Last Passed Examination.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Email ID.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Self-Declared Income Certificate.
  • Aadhaar Card and Jan Aadhaar Card.
  • Passport Size Photo.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Beneficiary Students can apply online through the following modes for monthly financial assistance under the Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana ofthe  Rajasthan Government :-
  • Through the Rajasthan Single Sign On Portal.
  • Through the E Mitra Centre.

Online through the Rajasthan SSO Portal

• Online Application Form of Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana is available on the Single Sign On (SSO) Portal of the Rajasthan Government.
• The beneficiary student will have to visit the SSO Portal and click on Registration.
• Students will have to register themselves on the SSO Portal through their Jan Aadhaar Card Number or Email Address.
  
• Portal will send the User Name and Password on the registered Email ID of the Applicant.
• Login again to the Portal with the received User Name or Password.
  
• Search for SJMS SMS in the search bar.
  
• Select DBT Voucher Yojana from the list of schemes.
  
• A detailed Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana Online Application Form will appear on the screen, in whichthe  applicant student will have to fill the following information :-
  • Personal Information.
  • Address Information.
  • Documents to be Uploaded.
• Check all the filled information and click on the submit button to submit the Ambedkar DBT Voucher Scheme Online Application Form.
• The submitted application form and documents will be verified by the educational institutions in which students are currently studying.
• The list of verified students will then be forwarded to the Social Justice and Empowerment Department for final approval.
• Final Approval will be provided to the Departmental District Collector and the amount of assistance will then be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary students.
• Contact the Officials of the SJE Department for any help or assistance required regarding the Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana of the Rajasthan Government.

Through the E Mitra Centre

• Eligible Students can apply for the Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana by visiting their nearest E-Mitra Centre.
• Visit the E Mitra Centre with all the documents.
• The Operator present there will fill the form of Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojana on behalf of the students.
• The scanned copy of all the documents will also be uploaded by the Operator on the portal.
• An acknowledgement receipt will be generated and provided to students after the successful submission of the application form.
• Officials of the respective college and the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment will verify the details filled in the application form and shortlist the eligible students.
• The financial assistance of Rs. 2,000/- per month will then be transferred to the bank account of the student on a monthly basis as promised by the Rajasthan Government under Ambedkar DBT Voucher Yojna.
