Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana is a welfare scheme by the Madhya Pradesh Government to support poor Muslim families in marriage. The scheme aims to reduce financial burden by providing Rs. 55,000/- assistance. Out of this, Rs. 49,000/- is given to the bride and Rs. 6,000/- to the organisers.

Introduction of Madhya Pradesh Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana is a marriage assistance scheme launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2012 and further amended in the year 2022.
• The state government started this scheme with an objective to help poor and destitute Muslim families who cannot afford the expenses of their daughter’s wedding.
• Further, the government intends to reduce the financial burden on economically weaker sections of the Muslim Community.
• The Social Justice and Disabled Persons Welfare Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government runs this scheme on the ground level.
• Local bodies like Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, and District Panchayats organise the mass marriage events where multiple couples get married together in a single event under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana.
• Under the Chief Minister Nikah Scheme, the Madhya Pradesh government spends a total of Rs. 55,000/- on each marriage.
• Out of this, Rs. 49,000/- goes directly to the bride through an Account Payee Cheque.
• And, the remaining Rs. 6,000/- is paid to the organisers of the mass marriage to cover infrastructure and event expenses.
• The financial assistance under this scheme will be provided to those brides who belong to a poor or destitute Muslim family and must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
• The age limit for the bride is 18 years or above, and the groom must be 21 years or above.
• The Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh Government is not limited to first-time brides only, the widows and divorced women who are remarrying are also eligible to receive financial assistance of Rs. 49,000/-.
• The beneficiary applicant will have to keep one important condition in mind that the Nikah must take place at a mass marriage ceremony organised by the local administration under this scheme.
• Individual or private marriages do not qualify for the benefit of financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana.
• Beneficiary Applicant can apply online through the MP Vivah Portal, or they can submit an offline application form to their nearest local body at least 15 days before the scheduled mass marriage event.
• Contact the District Office of Social Justice Department or Gram Panchayat or Nagar Nigam/ Palika Office in case any help or assistance is required regarding the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s Mukhyamantri Kanya Nikah Yojana.
• Madhya Pradesh Government announced the mass marriage event schedule for the year 2026-2027, organised under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana.
• The four mass marriage events which are scheduled under Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana are :-
  • 20-04-2026 in Karanjiya/ Bajag.
  • 28-04-2026 in Dindori.
  • 07-05-2026 in Shahpura.
  • 14-05-2026 in Amarpur/ Samnapur.
• The Madhya Pradesh Government Administration issued an advisory for interested applicants to apply for financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana on time and participate in the mass marriage event.
• Eligible Women Applicants can apply for “Mukhyamanti Ladli Behna Yojana” in which monthly financial assistance is provided by the Madhya Pradesh Government.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Madhya Pradesh Government will provide the following benefits to all eligible brides from the Muslim community under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana :-
  • Financial Assistance for marriage will be provided.
  • A total of Rs. 55,000/- will be spent by the Madhya Pradesh Government on the marriage.
  • Out of Rs. 55,000/-, Rs. 49,000/- will be directly paid to the Bride through Account Payee Cheque.
  • Rs. 6,000/- will be paid to the organisers of the mass marriage for infrastructure.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 55,000/- as a marriage assistance will be provided to only those beneficiary girls who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana :-
  • Permanent Resident Applicant of Madhya Pradesh is Eligible.
  • Brides from Poor and Destitute Muslim Families is eligible to receive financial assistance for marriage under this scheme.
  • The Age of the Bride should be 18 years or more.
  • The Age of the Groom should be 21 years or more.
  • Nikah performed in a Mass Marriage is required to receive the assistance.
  • Widow and Divorcee Women who are remarrying are also eligible for financial assistance.
  • No Minimum or Maximum Income Criteria is required.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The following documents will be required to be submitted at the time of applying for financial assistance for marriage under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh Government :-
  • Residence Proof of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Documents related to the Age Proof.
  • Passport-size photo of the bride and Groom.
  • Aadhaar Card of the Bride and Groom.
  • SAMAGRA ID.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details or Cancelled Cheque.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Girls can apply for marriage assistance under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh Government through the following ways :-
  • Online through the MP Vivah Portal.
  • Offline through the Application Form.

Online Application Process through MP Vivah Portal

• Madhya Pradesh Government has a dedicated portal through which eligible girls to be brides can register themselves to receive financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana.
• Registration for Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana is online which can be done through the Vivah Portal of the Madhya Pradesh Government.
• Girl Applicant will have to visit the Vivah Portal and click on Registration.
• Registration Link of Mukhyamantri Nikaah Yojana is not open for the whole year; every year a small window will be provided by the Government in which the applicant has to apply online.
• The beneficiary girl applicant will have to fill the online application form of Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana and upload all the required documents in PDF format.
• Preview the filled Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana Online Application Form and click on the submit button to submit it.
• The submitted application form of the scheme along with all the documents, will be verified by the Gram Panchayat Officials in the Rural Area and the Nagar Nigam or Collector Officials in the Urban Area.
• The list of selected and eligible girls will be forwarded for further approval to the Office of the Department of Social Justice and Disabled Persons Welfare.
• The department will further organise a mass marriage function and notify the date and time to the beneficiaries selected for financial assistance under the CM Nikah Scheme of the MP Government.
• The cheque of financial assistance of Rs. 49,000/- will be distributed among beneficiaries in the event of a mass marriage.

Offline Application Process

• The application for financial assistance for marriage under Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana can also be submitted through an Offline Application Form.
• Application Form of Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana can be collected free of cost from the following offices :-
  • Gram Panchayat or Ward Panchayat Office in Rural Area.
  • Nagar Nigam or Nagar Palika or Nagar Parishad Office in Rural Area.
• Collect the CM Nikah Yojana Application Form and fill it carefully without making any mistakes.
• Attach all the required documents to the application form.
• Now, submit the duly filled application form along with all the documents in the same office from where the form was collected.
• The official will initially verify the details of the applicant for forward it for approval to the Chief Executive Office of the Panchayat in Rural Area and to the Commissioner’s Office of Nagar Nigam in the Urban Area.
• The date and time of the nikah ceremony which will be performed in the mass marriage function, will be notified to selected beneficiaries through SMS on their registered mobile number.
• The government will disburse the amount of Rs. 49,000/- under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana at the mass marriage event.
