The scheme was earlier known as the Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme. After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the government renamed it as Dr NTR Vaidya Seva vide G.O.Ms. No.157 dated 17.12.2014, and enhanced the financial coverage significantly. How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme does not require a separate online application for availing treatment. Eligible beneficiaries can directly visit any empanelled network hospital for cashless treatment. The Vaidya Mithra at the hospital verifies eligibility through the scheme database and guides the patient through the complete treatment journey.

Step 1: Visit the nearest Dr NTR Vaidya Seva empanelled network hospital. Search the complete hospital list at drntrvaidyaseva.ap.gov.in. You can also reach through referral from Village Health Clinic, Primary Health Centre, 104 Family Physician, or 108 Emergency Ambulance.

Step 2: Meet the Vaidya Mithra at the hospital help desk immediately on arrival. The Vaidya Mithra verifies your eligibility through the scheme portal using your Aadhaar card, ration card, or other approved identity documents and registers you in the online system.

Step 3: Submit your Aadhaar Card, Ration Card or eligibility document, medical records, previous prescriptions, and diagnostic reports to the Vaidya Mithra. Also, submit your bank passbook details to receive Aarogya Aasara post-operative sustenance allowance directly in your account.

Step 4: The doctor examines you and determines whether your condition is covered under the scheme’s listed therapies. If covered, a pre-authorisation request is submitted to the Trust within 24 hours. The Trust approves it within 12 hours. In emergencies, telephonic pre-authorisation is available 24×7, followed by regular pre-authorisation within 24 hours.

Step 5: After approval, the hospital provides complete cashless treatment. All medicines, investigations, meals, and nursing services are covered. The treatment cost is settled directly between the hospital and the Trust; you pay nothing.

Step 6: At discharge, the hospital provides medicines for 10 days and reimburses your bus fare home. Sign the Confirmation Letter and Consent Letter before leaving. For 138 identified procedures, free medicines for 1 year are provided after discharge.
