Introduction of Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana: A Brief Insight
- According to government sources, around 70% of the Assamese population is directly or indirectly dependent on agricultural and its allied activities.
- Assam Farmers produce both cash and food crops, but in the traditional way by using old means of production.
- Farmers used nonscientific tools in their cultivation/ agricultural activity, which cost them time and also increased the price of production.
- Keeping this hardship in mind, the Assam Government started the Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana, alias Chief Minister Farm Tool Scheme, in the year 2018.
- The main objective of the government behind starting this scheme is to encourage farmers to implement scientific practices for better agricultural production.
- This scheme also ensures that farm mechanization will be used for the cultivation of crops so that there will be an increase in production and farmers can save their time and labour costs.
- Mukhya Mantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana is implemented by the Agriculture & Horticulture Department of the Assam Government.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Government of Assam will provide the following benefits to all eligible small, marginal, and tenant farmers of the state under its Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yozana :-
- Financial Assistance will be provided to Farmers to purchase Farm Tools or Farm Implements.
- Each Farmer will get Rs. 5,000/- Financial Assistance.
- Around 5 Lakh Farmers will get the Financial Assistance.
- Financial Assistance will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary farmer.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Financial Assistance of Rs. 5,000/- for procurement of farm tools will only be provided to those beneficiaries by the Assam Government who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana :-
- Permanent Resident Small and Marginal Farmers of Assam are Eligible to Apply.
- The age of the Farmer should be 21 years or more.
- Farmers holding Kisan Credit Card (KCC) are also Eligible to apply.
- A farmer should be doing Agricultural Activities for at least 3 consecutive years.
- Benefits will be provided to only One Farmer per Family.

- Farmers will have to submit the following documents with the Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana (MMKSSY) Application Form:-
- Domicile or Residence Proof of Assam.
- Farmer’s Aadhaar Card.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- Recent Color Photograph.
- Agricultural Land Related Documents.
- Tenancy Agreement. (In Case of Tenant Farmer)
- Undertaking.

- Eligible Small, Marginal, Tenant and Sharecropper Farmers can apply to get financial assistance of Rs. 5,000/- under Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana through Offline Application Form.
- Assam Government’s Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana Application Form is available in the Gram Panchayat or the Agricultural Development Officer’s Office.
- Collect the Application Form and fill it correctly without making any mistakes.
- Attach all the required documents with the application form.
- Agriculture Extension Assistant (AEA) will collect the Application Form from beneficiary farmers.
- Selection of farmers will be done according to the Gram Panchayat in which they reside.
- Agriculture District Officer (ADO) will finalise the list of selected farmers and present it in front of the District Level Committee.
- District Level Committee (DLC) will verify the list of farmers selected for financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana of the Assam Government and give its final approval.
- DLC will then sent the approved list of farmers to the Director of Agriculture for disbursement of payment.
- Each selected farmers will get Rs. 5,000/- financial to purchase farm tools under the Assam Government’s Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana.
