Introduction of Bihar Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Bihar Government presented its budget for the year 2026-2027 on 03-02-2026.
• The government announced lots of welfare schemes for the people of Bihar which are going to be launched in the coming days.
• One of the prominent schemes announced for the welfare of farmers is “Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana”.
• The Government announced this scheme to provide additional financial support to small and marginal farmers of the state.

• The Bihar Government will start providing the benefit after the implementation of the scheme in the financial year 2026-27.
• It is estimated that around 73,37,000 farmers is going to receive the yearly assistance of Rs. 3,000/- per year under the Government of Bihar’s Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
• PM Kisan beneficiary data will be used to identify the eligible farmers and farmers will not need to submit any application.
• Farmers can also apply for “Krishi Input Anudan Yojana” in which the government is providing financial assistance in case of loss of crop.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Bihar Government under its Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will provide the following benefits to all those farmers who are registered under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana :-
  • Eligible Farmers will receive Rs. 3,000/- per year as additional financial assistance.
  • This amount is in addition to the Rs. 6,000/- per year provided under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
  • The government will transfer the amount directly into the farmer’s bank account through DBT.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Annual Assistance of Rs. 3,000/- will be provided to only those farmers who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the Bihar Government’s Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana :-
  • Permanent Resident Farmers of Bihar are eligible to apply.

  • Bank Account of the Beneficiary Farmer should be linked with the Aadhaar Card.
