Introduction of Bihar Krishi Input Anudan Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Bihar Government had launched the Krishi Input Anudan Yojana (बिहार कृषि इनपुट अनुदान योजना) in the year 2016.
• The main objective behind starting this scheme is to support the farmers financially in the event of loss of crop due to unavoidable circumstances like Flood or Storm.
• Bihar Government’s Agriculture Department is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Financial Assistance will be provided by the Bihar Government under Krishi Input Anudan Yojana to those farmers whose crops got damaged due to excessive rains or montha storms.
• All Raiyyat and Non-Raiyyat Farmers of the State whose crop got damaged by 33% or more are eligible to apply for compensation under this scheme.
• Bihar Government sets the following amount of compensation to be paid to farmers under Krishi Input Anudan Yojana :-

  Non-Irrigated Land	Rs. 8,500/-
  Irrigated Land	Rs. 17,000/-
  Perennial Land	Rs. 22,500/-

• The amount of compensation paid under this scheme is applicable up to 2 hectares of agricultural land only.
• Bihar Government also sets the minimum amount of compensation to be paid to farmers under the Krishi Input Anudan Yojana.
• It is mandatory for a farmer to have a 13-digit farmer registration number which can be obtained by registering on the Agriculture Department’s DBT Portal.
• If any farmer’s Aadhaar card is not linked with his bank account, then they cannot receive the amount of compensation under Krishi Input Anudan Yojana.
• Online Application Form of Krishi Input Anudaan Scheme of the Bihar Government is available on the Bihar Agriculture DBT Portal.
• Bihar Government invites applications online every month for the loss of crops in the preceding month.
• For those farmers whose crops are damaged in the month of October due to excessive rainfall and montha storm can apply online for compensation under Krishi Input Anudan Yojana till 05-12-2025.
• Application starts from 25-11-2025 and the last day to apply online is 05-12-2025.

• Female Members in a family can apply for “Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana” in which financial assistance of Rs. 2,10,000/- will be provided for self-employment.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Farmers whose crops are damaged by 33% or more due to excessive rains and montha storm will receive the following benefits from the Bihar Government under Krishi Input Anudan Yojana :-
  

  Financial Assistance will be provided to Eligible Farmers. The following rates of compensation are applicable :- Rs. 8,500/- per Hectare for Non-Irrigated Agricultural Land. Rs. 17,000/- per Hectare for Irrigated Agricultural Land. Rs. 22,500/- per Hectare for Perennial Crops like Sugarcane. Compensation is applicable for up to 2 hectares of Land. The minimum amount of compensation applicable under this scheme are :- Rs. 1,000/- for Non-Irrigated Agricultural Land. Rs. 2,000/- for Non-Irrigated Agricultural Land. Rs. 2,500/- for Perennial Crops like Sugarcane.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Compensation on the loss of crop will be provided to only those farmers who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of the Government of Bihar’s Krishi Input Anudan Yojana :-
  • A farmer should be a Permanent Resident of Bihar.
  • The farmer should be registered on the Agricultural DBT Portal.
  • All Raiyyat and Non-Raiyyat Farmers are Eligible.
  • Farmer Family should have Husband + Wife + Children.
  • The Crop of a Farmer should be damaged by 33% or more.
  • The Reason for Crop Damage should be Flood due to Excessive Rainfall and Montha Storm.
  • Bank Account of a Farmer should be linked with the Aadhaar Card.

• Beneficiary Farmers will have to upload the following documents at the time of applying for compensation under the Bihar Government’s Krishi Input Anudan Yojana :-
  • Farmer + Family Members Aadhaar Card.
  • 13 Digit Farmer Registration Number.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Number.
  • LPC Lagan Receipt.
  • Recent Colour Photo.
  • Agricultural Land Details.
  • Self Declaration Form.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Beneficiary Farmers who have a damaged crop of 33% or more can apply online for compensation under Krishi Input Anudan Yojana of the Bihar Government.
• Bihar Government’s Agricultural Department has a dedicated DBT Portal through which a beneficiary farmer applies online for Krishi Input Anudaan Yojana.
  
• Open the Portal, click on the Online Services Tab and choose “Krishi Input Anudan Yojana 2025-2026”.
  
• A new window will open in which the beneficiary farmer will have to fill in the Farmer Registration Number and click on search.
  
• The portal will fetch the details of the farmer and show it on the screen.
• The farmer will have to fill in the following details in the Online Application Form of Krishi Input Anudan Yojana :-
  • Family Member Details.
  • Agricultural Land Details.
  • Crop Details.
  • Reason of Damaged Crop.
  • Upload all the Required Documents.
• Check all the filled details in the Krishi Input Anudan Yojana Online Application Form and submit it.
• The submitted online application and documents will be primarily verified by the District Agriculture Officer.
• Ground Verification of damaged crop will also be done by the respective officer.
• The List of Farmers found to be eligible for compensation will then be forwarded by the DAO to the Agriculture Department for further verification and disbursement of the compensation amount.
• The department will notify the farmer through SMS on their registered mobile number regarding the approval of their application.
• Beneficiary Farmers will receive the amount of compensation directly in their bank account as promised by the Bihar Government under the Krishi Input Anudan Yojana.
• Farmers can also check the Krishi Input Anudan Yojana Application Status by entering their 13-digit Farmer Registration Number.
  
• However, Beneficiary Farmer can also apply online for compensation under Krishi Input Anudan Yojana through Block Agriculture Officer, E Kisan Bhawan, Common Service Centre or Vasudha Kendra as per their suitability.
