Introduction of Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government is one of the major social welfare schemes of the State.
• The main objective of the government behind starting this scheme is to support the marriage of those girls who belong to low-income group families.
• Women and Child Development Department of the Chhattisgarh Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Chhattisgarh Government will organise a mass wedding function for girls of low-income group families in which free-of-cost weddings will be conducted.
• For each marriage ceremony, the Government of Chhattisgarh will spend Rs. 50,000/- under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana.
• Out of Rs. 50,000/-, the amount of Rs. 7,000/- will going to be spent on marriage material like Clothes ofthe  Bride and Groom, Mangalsutra, Payal, Makeup and Rs. 8,000/- will be spent on the Organisation of the Marriage.
• The remaining Rs. 35,000/- will be provided to the bride as a marriage assistance vide Bank Draft or Cheque by the Chhattisgarh Government under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana.
• The benefits of the CM Kanya Vivah Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh will only be provided to those brides of low-income group families who belong to the below poverty line category.
• 2 daughters per family are eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance under this scheme for their marriage.
• There will be no online application form or official website for the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Scheme available right now.
• Beneficiary Girl Applicants will have to apply for financial assistance for their marriage through the Offline Application Form of Chhattisgarh Government’s Marriage Assistance Scheme alias Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana.
• Contact the CDPO, Anganwadi Centre, DPO or DWCDO Office in case any help or assistance is required regarding Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh.
• Women Beneficiaries can also apply for “Mahatari Vandan Yojana” of the Government in which monthly financial assistance will be provided for their daily chores.
• And, the beneficiary of “Mahatari Vandan Yojana” can apply for “Mahatari Shakti Loan Scheme” in which subsidised loans will be provided for business activity.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Government of Chhattisgarh will provide the following benefits to all eligible brides for their marriage under the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana :-
  

  Financial Assistance will be provided for Marriage. Government spends Rs. 50,000/- per marriage under this scheme. The distribution of Rs. 50,000/- amount per marriage will be as :- Rs. 7,000/- will be spent on Marriage Material. Rs. 35,000/- directly to the Bride vide Bank Draft/ Cheque. Rs. 8,000/- per marriage will be spent on the organisation of the mass marriage.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 35,000/- as a marriage assistance will be received by only those applicants who fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteria of Chhattisgarh Government’s Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana :-
  • Permanent Resident Girls of Chhattisgarh are Eligible to Apply.
  • Girl Bride should belong to a low-income group/ Below Poverty Line Family.
  • The Age of bride should be more than 18 years.
  • The Age of the Groom should be 21 years or more.
  • The family of a Girl Bride should have a Ration Card issued under Mukhyamantri Khadhyan Yojana.
  • The benefits of the Scheme will be applicable for 2 Girls per Family.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The documents that are required at the time of applying for marriage assistance under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh are mentioned below :-
  • Document Proof of Age.
  • Recent Color Passport Size Photo of the Bride and Groom.
  • Residence Proof of Chhattisgarh.
  • Family Income Certificate.
  • Aadhaar Card of the Bride and Groom.
  • Ration Card of a Family.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Brides of Chhattisgarh can apply for marriage assistance under the Chhattisgarh Government’s Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana through an Offline Application Form.
• Application Form of Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana of Chhattisgarh Government can be collected free of cost from any one of the following government offices :-
  • Anganwadi Office.
  • Child Development Officer Office.
  • District Program Officer Office.
  • District Women and Child Development Officer’s Office.
• Visit any one of the above-mentioned offices and collect the application form.
• Attach all the required documents to the application form.
• Beneficiary Applicant will then have to submit the Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana Application Form along with all the attached documents to the same office from where the application form was collected.
• The respective officials will verify the received application forms and documents and make a list of eligible applicants.
• The list of eligible applicants will then be forwarded to the Department of Women and Child Development for further verification and sanction of financial assistance.
• Then, at every district, the mass marriage function will be organised by the District Administration, in which the marriage ceremony will be conducted for all eligible beneficiaries.
• The date and timing of the mass marriage will be notified to the applicant separately on their registered mobile number.
• The distribution of financial assistance of Rs. 35,000/- will also be done in the same marriage function through Bank Draft or Cheque.
• Beneficiary Applicant can check their Application Status of Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana of Chhattisgarh Government by visiting the District Women and Child Development Officer.
