Introduction of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Himachal Pradesh Government launched the Indira Gandhi Mahila Samman Nidhi Yojana in 2023.
• Later, the Government of Himachal Pradesh amended the name of this scheme on March 13, 2024.
• The current name of this scheme, after amendment, is “Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana.
• The primary objective of the government in initiating this is to empower women in the State financially and make them self-reliant.
• Government of Himachal Pradesh will provide monthly financial assistance to all eligible women under this scheme.
• Eligible Women Beneficiaries will receive Rs. 1,500/- per month under the Himachal Pradesh Government’s Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana.
• All permanent resident women aged between 18 years to 59 years are eligible to get monthly assistance under this scheme.
• Having a Parivar Register Copy (In Rural areas) and a Family Ration Card (In Urban areas) is mandatorily required.
• Buddhist Nuns who are permanently residing at Buddhist Monastery are also eligible to apply for the monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,500/- under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana of the Himachal Pradesh Government.

• Application Form of Indira Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana is available in the Office of the District Welfare Officer or the Tehsil Welfare Officer.
• There is no Official Website of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Yojana available to fill the Online Application Form.
• Take the Application Form, fill it, attach all the documents, submit it, and avail the benefit of the monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,500/- per month under the Government of Himachal Pradesh’s Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana.
• Women Beneficiaries who are active members of Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) can apply for “Namo Drone Didi Scheme” in which they will receive the training to become drone pilots.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Eligible Women Beneficiaries of Himachal Pradesh will receive the following benefits under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana :-
  • Monthly Assistance will be provided to Eligible Women.
  • Women Beneficiaries will get Rs. 1,500/- per Month directly in their bank account.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Monthly Assistance of Rs. 1,500/- by Himachal Pradesh Government will only be provided to those beneficiaries who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana :-
  • Only Women applicants are Eligible to apply.
  • Women applicants should be Permanent residents of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Women applicants’ Age should be between 18 years to 59 years.
  • Buddhist Nuns residing permanently at Buddhist Monasteries are also Eligible.

Ineligibility Conditions of the Scheme

• If any family member of the women beneficiary falls within the ambit of any of the below-mentioned category, then she is not eligible to apply for the benefit of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana of the Himachal Pradesh Government:-
  • Employee of the State or Central Government.
  • Pensioner of the State or Central Government.
  • Ex Army.
  • Widows of Army Personnel.
  • Anganwadi Worker/ Assistant.
  • ASHA Worker.
  • Midday Meal Worker.
  • Multi-Task Worker.
  • Social Security Pensioner.
  • Income Tax Payer.

• Women Applicants will have to attach the documents mentioned below with the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana Application Form at the time of applying for the monthly assistance of Rs. 1,500/- :-
  • Domicile Certificate of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Post Office/ Bank Account Details with IFSC Code.
  • Beneficiary Women Aadhaar Card.
  • Parivar Register Copy. (For Rural Area Residents)
  • Family Ration Card. (For Urban Area Residents)
  • Certificate from Chief Chomo. (For Buddhist Nun)
  • Recent Color Passport Size Photograph.
  • BPL Ration Card. (If Applicable)
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Women Beneficiaries can apply for monthly assistance of Rs. 1,500/- per month under Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana of Himachal Pradesh Government through the Application Form.
• Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana Application Form is available free of cost at any of the following offices :-
  • District Welfare Officer. (Jila Kalyan Adhikari)
  • Tehsil Welfare Officer. (Tehsil Kalyan Adhikari)
• Application Forms can also be downloaded from the www.esomsa.hp.gov.in website.
• Collect or Download the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana Application Form.
• Fill it carefully without making any mistakes.
• Attach all the required documents to the Application Form.
• Submit the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Scheme Application Form along with all the documents to the Office of the District Welfare Officer or the Tehsil Welfare Officer.
• Tehsil Welfare Officer will scrutinize the received application forms and make a list of eligible women beneficiaries.
• Incorrectly filled forms will be returned to beneficiaries within 15 days with proper comments.
• The list of Beneficiary Women selected for each month of  Sukh Samman Nidhi will be forwarded to the Directorate for final approval.
• All eligible and selected women beneficiaries will get financial assistance of Rs. 1,500/- per month under Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana after final approval, directly in their bank account.
• Application Status of this scheme can be checked by visiting the District Welfare Officer or the Tehsil Welfare Officer’s Office.
• Himachal Pradesh Government didn’t provide the facility to apply online for the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana.
