Introduction of National Startup Awards 5.0: A Brief Insight

Central Government started the National Startup Awards in the year 2019.
The main objective behind starting this initiative is to empower those startups that have a social impact and contribute to India’s growth journey towards Viksit Bharat.
This is implemented by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry with a contribution from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. (DPIIT)
Central Government will provide awards to selected startups in 20 categories that contribute to societal goods.
Startups selected in each category for National Startup Awards will get a Cash Prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-. (Rs. Ten Lakh)
Apart from that, selected startups will also get priority in national and international startup events in which the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) takes part.
Selected Winner Startups will also get support from investors, government connections, market access, and opportunities.
Only DPIIT-recognized startups are eligible to register for participation in National Startup Award version 5.0.
One startup can register itself in 2 categories.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

Government of India sets the following eligibility conditions for interested startups who are willing to apply for National Startup Awards :-
- A startup should be DPIIT-recognized.
- Registration of a Startup with BHASKAR is mandatory.
- Software or Hardware Product or Process Solution are Eligible Entity.
- Having Trade Specification Registration like CE, FSSAI, MSME, GST is required.
- The startup should not be a Defaulter.
- The entity Startup should not have completed 10 years of incorporation.
- The startup can apply for a maximum of 2 categories.

Documents that are required to be uploaded at the time of filling the Registration Form of National Startup Awards 5.0 are mentioned below :-
- - Registration Certificate from DPIIT.
  - PAN Card and Aadhaar Card of the Founder.
  - GST Registration Certificate.
  - Startup Pitch Deck with 10 Maximum Slides.
- Trade Specific Registration of Startup.
- Financial Statement of 3 Years.
- BHASKAR ID.
- Mobile Number and Email Address.
- A Short Video of 120 Seconds that covers what a startup is about.
