Introduction of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: A Brief Insight

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan) was launched by the Central Government on 24-02-2019.
The main objective of the central government behind starting this scheme is to support landholding farmers financially so that their farm income increases and they don’t have to face any financial crunch during crop production and the procurement process.
This scheme is implemented by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
The government will provide yearly financial assistance to all small and marginal farmers who have agricultural and cultivable land holdings up to 2 hectares.
Each and Every Eligible Farmer will get yearly assistance of Rs. 6,000/- under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. (PM Kisan Nidhi)
This financial assistance of the PM Kisan Scheme will be disbursed among farmers in 3 equal installments of Rs. 2,000/- per year.
Assistance will be directly transferred in the Aadhaar-linked bank Account of farmers in every 4 months.
19^th Installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana had already been disbursed on the 24^th of February 2025.
It is to be expected that farmers will receive the 20^th Installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme on or before 24^th June 2025.
The government had launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Official Website, through which online registration, application status, e-KYC, and more facilities are available for farmers.’
The same benefits can also be availed through the Official Mobile Application of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme.
State Wise Beneficiary List of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Nidhi) can also be checked on the portal.
Registered Farmers will have to eKYC, which is mandatory to receive the benefits of the PM Kisan Scheme. eKYC can be performed on the official website through the Aadhaar Number.
Till date, the Central Government has disbursed more than 2.80 lakh crore rupees in the bank accounts of more than 11 crore farmers under PM Kisan.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

Ineligibility Conditions of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

If any farmer fall within the ambit of any of the below-mentioned criteria, then he/she is not eligible to apply for Rs. 6,000/- per year financial assistance as promised by the Central Government under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana :-

Institutional Land Holders. (Farmers having Higher Economic Status)
Present and Former Constitutional Post Holders.
Present or Former MP, MLA, Minister, Mayor, Chairman of Panchayats.
Serving or Retired Officials of the State or Central Government or PSU or Autonomous Body.
Retired Pensioners receiving a monthly pension of Rs. 10,000/- or above.
Income Tax Payers.
Any of the following professionals:-
- Chartered Accountants
- Lawyers
- Engineers
- Doctors
- Architects

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

Farmers can apply for assistance of Rs. 6,000/- per year under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan) through the following ways :-

Online Application Process through the Official Website

The easiest and simplest way for farmers to register themselves under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is through the Official Website of Scheme.
Farmers can register themselves on their own without the help of anyone.
Just open the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Official Website and click on New Farmer Registration.
Enter your Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, and State of Residence and click on get OTP.
Mobile Number and Aadhaar Number of the Farmer will be verified by the portal through OTP separately.
Some details like name, father’s name, mobile number, date of birth and aadhaar number will be automatically filled by the portal and some details will have to be filled by the farmer themselves.
Fill in the details of the agricultural land owned/ leased by the beneficiary farmer.
Upload all the supporting documents on the portal.
Preview the Application Form of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and click on the Submit Button to submit it.
The portal will generate a Registration Number after the successful submission of the application form.
The submitted Application Form will be verified by the concerned officials and selected all the eligible farmers.
Every year in 3 equal installments of Rs. 2,000/-, the central government will transfer the amount into the bank account of farmers.
You can check your PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Application Status with the help of your Registration Number.
If you forgot or misplaced your PM Kisan Registration Number then it can be searched by the registered mobile number or the Aadhaar number of the farmer.

Offline Application Process through CSC Centre

Central Government has also provided the facility to farmers for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana Registration through an Offline Application Form.
Beneficiary Farmer will have to visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) of their area with complete documents like Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, Mobile Number and documents related to agricultural land.
The operator present at CSC will fill the application form of the PM Kisan Scheme on behalf of the beneficiary farmer.
Documents will have to be verified and then uploaded to the portal.
Farmers will have to pay the nominal charges to the CSC operator for their service.
Take the Acknowledgement Slip after the registration.
The farmer will receive the SMS on their registered Mobile Number once their application is accepted after verification.
Farmer can check their Application Status with their Aadhaar Number.
Then in once in every four months, the Central Government will transfer Rs. 2,000/- directly in the bank account of the farmer.

Go to the Play Store or Apple Store and Download the Mobile Application of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme.
Click on New Farmer Registration and enter your Aadhaar Number and Mobile Number.
Mobile App will verify the Aadhaar and Mobile Number of the Farmer through OTP.
PM Kisan Online Application Form will appear on screen, in which the farmer will have to fill in the personal details, contact details and land-related details.
Upload all the relevant documents.
Check the filled form and click on the submit button to submit it.
Submitted Application Form will be verified by officials and given their approval to eligible farmers.
Financial Assistance of Rs. 6,000/- per year will then be transferred directly in the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the farmer.
