Introduction of Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana: A Brief Insight
- Congress Government in Rajasthan started Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana in which Domestic Gas Cylinder at Rs. 500/- had provided to eligible beneficiaries.
- But in assembly election of Rajasthan, Bharatiya Janta Party announced lots of welfare scheme like “Lado Protsahan Yojana” “Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana” and “Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana”.
- With the help of above mentioned promises, BJP successfully wins the election and formed next government in Rajasthan.
- Newly for BJP led Rajasthan Government had announced that “Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana” will be started from 1st of January 2024.
- But Food and Civil Supplies Department of Rajasthan Goverment released its official guidelines on 29-08-2024 in which it is clearly mentioned that Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana will be implented from 01-09-2024 in whole of Rajasthan.
- So officially this scheme is launched on 1st of September 2024.
- The main aim of Government is to provide relief to low income group families from increasing domestic LPG Gas Cylinder.
- Rajasthan Government’s Food and Civil Supplies Department is the implementing department of this scheme.
- Government of Rajasthan will provide subsidy to eligible families on the purchase of domestic gas cylinder every month under Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana.
- After deducting central and state subsidy, all families will get domestic gas cylinder at just Rs. 450/-.
- Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana is a subsidy scheme in which beneficiary families will have to purchase the gas cylinder every month on its actual market price.
- Then beneficiary will receive the remaining amount of PM Ujjwala Yojana Subsidy and Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana Subsidy amount after deducting Rs. 450/- for Gas Cylinder.
- Let’s take an example for better understanding :-
- Current LPG Cylinder market price is Rs. 906/-.
- Beneficiary families will have to purchase the gas cylinder at this original price of Rs. 906/-.
- Central Government is providing subsidy of Rs. 300/- under PM Ujjwala Yojana.
- Rajasthan Government will provide subsidy of Rs. 156/- under Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana.
- By adding both the subsidies, the amount of Rs. 456/- will be directly transferred in the Jan Aadhaar Linked Bank Account of Beneficiary.
- Whereas those beneficiary families who doesn’t have PM Ujjwala Yojana Gas Connection will get subsidy amount after a deduction Rs. 450/- from original price of gas cylinder.
- Families Covered under National Food Security Act, Families belongs to Below Poverty Line and Families registered under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana are eligible to get gas cylinder at Rs. 450/- under Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana of Rajasthan Government.
- Around 70 lakh poor families will get gas cylinder at Rs. 450/- under this scheme out of which 66 lakh are PM Ujjwala Yojana beneficiary and 4 lakh are BPL families.
- Subsidy on Gas Cylinder will be provided once in a month means beneficiaries can avail the benefit of subsidy on 12 gas cylinders in a year.
- It mandatory for all beneficiaries to link their Ration Card with their LPG ID and Jan Aadhaar Card.
- Subsidy on Gas Cylinder under Rajasthan Government’s Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana will only provided to those beneficiary families whose Ration Card is properly seed with their Jan Aadhaar Card and LPG ID.
- E Mitra Centers and Ration Shops (Fair Price Shops) will seed the beneficiary Ration Card with Jan Aadhaar and LPG ID with the help of POS Machines.
- The other major and popular name of this scheme are “Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme” or “Subsidy on Rasoi Gas Cylinder Rajasthan” or “Rajasthan Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme” or “रसोई गैस सिलिंडर सब्सिडी योजना राजस्थान”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- The following benefits will be provided to each eligible beneficiaries of Rajasthan under Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana :-
- Subsidy on LPG Gas Cylinder will be Provided.
- After Subsidy, Beneficiary will get LPG Gas Cylinder at Rs. 450/-.
- Subsidy includes PM Ujjwala Yojana’s Rs. 300/-+Rs. 156/- from Rajasthan Government.
- Every Year Subsidy will be provided on 12 LPG Gas Cylinder. (1 Gas Cylinder per Month)
- Subsidy will only be provided on Domestic LPG Gas Cylinder.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Government of Rajasthan will provide LPG Gas Cylinder at just Rs. 450/- every month to only those beneficiary families who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria of Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana :-
- Only Permanent Resident of Rajasthan are Eligible.
- Beneficiary Family should have any of the below mentioned card :-
- National Food Security Act Card. (NFSA Ration Card)
- Below Poverty Line Card. (BPL Ration Card)
- Beneficiary Families of PM Ujjwala Yojana will also get subsidy under this scheme.
- Subsidy will only provided in Jan Aadhaar linked Bank Account of Beneficiary.
Documents Required to be Attached
- Beneficiary Families will have the following documents in hand in order to avail the benefit of subsidy under Rajasthan Government’s Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme :-
- Jan Aadhaar Card of Beneficiary Family.
- National Food Security Act Card. (NFSA Ration Card)
- Below Poverty Line Ration Card. (BPL Ration Card)
- PM Ujjwala Yojana Registration Number.
- Aadhar Number of Beneficiary.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Government of Rajasthan will only provided LPG Gas Cylinder at Rs. 450/- to those National Food Security Act Families and other beneficiaries who already completed their E-KYC.
- Beneficiary Families has to link their Ration Card with LPG ID and Jan Aadhaar in order to get the benefits of subsidy on gas cylinders under Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana of Rajasthan Government.
- Subsidy on Gas Cylinder will only provided after seeding is completed.
- At present the seeding work of Ration Card with LPG ID and Jan Aadhaar will be done by E-Mitra and Ration Shops with the help of POS Machines.
- Beneficiary can visit the E Mitra Center or Fair Price Shops (Ration Shop) to link their Ration Cards with their Jan Aadhaar Card and LPG ID.
- So it is clear that there is no need to apply separately or to fill any kind of application form to avail the benefit of subsidy under Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana.
- All Ration Card Beneficiaries will automatically get subsidy on LPG Gas Cylinder every month.
- Every month, LPG Gas Companies will forward the data of beneficiaries to concerned department for transfer of subsidy.
- Beneficiary Families will get the amount of subsidy directly in Jan Aadhaar Linked Bank Account.
- In case of any help or assistance required regarding Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana, beneficiary can contact E Mitra or their nearest Ration Shop.
