Introduction of Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana: A Brief Insight
- Congress Party Government started “Indira Rasoi Yojana” in the year 2020 in Rajasthan State.
- But after the assembly election, the Congress Party lost and Bharatiya Janta formed a new government in Rajasthan.
- After forming the government, the BJP-led Rajasthan Government closed the Indira Rasoi Yojana and started the Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana in its place.
- Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Bhajanlal Sharma launched Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana on 06-01-2024 in all 240 civic bodies by starting 1000 Annapurna Rasoi’s.
- The main aim of this scheme is to ensure that every resident of Rajasthan can get quality food at low affordable price.
- Local Self Government Department of Rajasthan Government is the implementing Department of this scheme.
- Rajasthan Government started Annapurna Rasoi under Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana in every civic bodies in which pure, fresh and nutritious food will be provided to people at very low price.
- Food Plate at Annapurna Rasoi will be served at just Rs. 8/- per plate.
- Each plate of food consists of fresh and nutritious 600 grams of food.
- 600 Grams of food plate consists 300 grams of Chapati/ Roti, 100 grams of Dal/ Pulses, 100 grams of Sabzi/ Vegetable, 100 grams of rice/ khichdi, and pickle.
- The cost of each plate at Annapurna Rasoi is Rs. 8/- per plate.
- Wheras, the Rajasthan Government will provide a subsidy of Rs. 22/- per plate to Rasoi Operators.
- Annapurna Rasoi will open only at below mentioned times on which people can visit and avail the benefit of nutritious food :-
- 08:30 AM to 03:00 PM :- For Breakfast and Lunch.
- 05:00 PM to 09:00 PM :- For Dinner.
- Rajasthan Government estimated to provide the benefit of low cost food at Rs. 8/- under Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana to 2.52 Lakh person per day and 9.21 crore people in a year.
- A budget of Rs. 250/- crore per year will be allocated by Rajasthan Government for the smooth implementation of this scheme.
- Government also fix the amount of food plates that can be served at Annapurna Rasoi. The amount of food plates served are :-
- In Nagar Nigam Area :- 200 Food Plate in Lunch and 200 Food Plate in Dinner.
- In Nagar Parishad Area :- 100 Food Plate in Lunch and 100 Food Plate in Dinner.
- In Nagar Palika Area :- 100 Food Plate in Lunch and 100 Food Plate in Dinner.
- Government of Rajasthan will also provide an one time assistance of Rs. 5 lakh for infrastructure and assistance of Rs. 3 lakh every year for Annapurna Rasoi Operation.

- The other major known names of this scheme are “Shri Annapurna Rasoi Scheme Rajasthan” or “श्री अन्नपूर्णा रसोई योजना”.
- If any firm or individual wants a contract to run Annapurna Rasoi under Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana then they can contact the Office of Local Self Government Department.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Rajasthan Government will provide the below-mentioned benefits to all people under its Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana :-
- Food on a very Low Cost Price will be Provided.
- Plate of Food will be provided at just Rs. 8/-.
- Pure, Nutritious and Fresh Plate of Food will be served at Annapurna Rasoi.
- Every Plate of Food of consist Chapati, Dal, Rice/ Khichdi, Sabzi and Pickle.
- Sitting Place is also provided to eat food.
- Rajasthan Government will provide Subsidy of Rs. 22/- to Annapurna Rasoi Operator.
Menu of Each Plate of Food
- The following food items will be served on every plate of food in Annapurna Rasoi which is operated under Rajasthan Government’s Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana :-
- Each Plate has 600 Grams of Food.
- 300 Grams of Chapati. (Roti)
- 100 Grams of Dal. (Pulses)
- 100 Grams of Sabzi. (Vegetables)
- 100 Grams of Rice/ Millet (Shri Anna) Khichdi.
- Pickle.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Plate of Food at just Rs. 8/- under Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana will be provided to only those beneficiaries at Annapurna Rasoi who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of scheme :-
- All Permanent Residents of Rajasthan are Eligible.
- Tourists who come to Rajasthan are also Eligible.
- Annapurna Rasoi is specifically for poor people who are not capable of buying healthy food.
Documents Required to be Attached
- No Documents will be required at Shri Annapurna Rasoi in order to get fresh and nutritious food at just Rs. 8/- per plate under Rajasthan Government Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- There is no need to apply for Shri Annapurna Yojana of Rajasthan Government in order to avail the benefit of fresh and nutritious plate of food at just Rs. 8/-.
- Beneficiary can visit their nearest Annapurna Rasoi and avail the benefit of food at specific timings.

- The opening time of Annapurna Rasoi is 08:30 AM in morning to 03:00 PM at noon and 05:00 PM in Evening to 09:00 PM at Night.
- People can visit at this above mentioned time and avail the benefit of lunch and dinner at just Rs. 8/- per plate.
- Each plate has 300 Grams of Chapati, 100 Grams of Dal, 100 Grams of Sabzi, 100 Grams of Rice Khichdi and Pickle.
