Introduction of Rajasthan Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana: A Brief Insight
- Rajasthan Government started the Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana (वरिष्ठ नागरिक तीर्थ यात्रा योजना) in the year 2013 with an objective to fulfill the devotional desire of senior citizens of the state to visit the religious places.
- From that year to till date, Rajasthan Tirth Yatra Yojana fulfills the desire of thousands of elderly people of the state by organising the visits to famous religious places for them across India.
- Government of Rajasthan’s Devasthan Department is implementing this scheme in the state.
- Now, eligible senior citizens of Rajasthan who are 60 years or more than 60 years can travel to famous religious places within and outside India free of cost.
- They do not have to pay a single penny for their religious journey.
- Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, has announced to provide a free pilgrimage visit to 36,000 senior citizens per year.
- The whole religious journey expenses like food, accommodation and travelling, will be borne by the Rajasthan Government.
- Journey in railways will be arranged in AC coaches by the Government.
- Only physically fit, healthy and mentally sound people are eligible to apply for and visit religious places free of cost under the Rajasthan Tirtha Yatra Yojana for Senior Citizens.
- Around 50,000 senior citizens will travel to religious places in train and around 6,000 will visit the religious places via airplane.
- For the year 2025, the Rajasthan Government will provide a facility to visit Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal and the journey will be done through an Airplane.
- Rajasthan Government is accepting applications under the Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana for the year 2025.
- The application is started from 18th of July 2025 and the last to apply for the Rajasthan Government’s Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana is 10th of August 2025.
- Varistha Nagril Tirth Yatra Yojana, alias Rajasthan Tirth Yatra Yojana, Online Application Form is available on the Devasthan Department Official Website.
- Beneficiary Senior Citizen can contact the Devasthan Department in case any help or assistance is required regarding the Varistha Nagrik Tirtha Yatra Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan.
- Senior Citizens of Rajasthan can also avail the benefit of cashless treatment under Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Rajasthan Government will provide the following benefits to senior citizens of the State under its Varistha Nargrik Tirtha Yatra Yojana :-
- Free Visit to famous Religious Places within and outside India.
- All the tour expenses will be borne by the Rajasthan Government.
- Religious Tour includes food, travelling, and accommodation expenses.
- Travelling in AC Train Coaches.
- Facility of Medical Staff is also available during the journey.
- Attendant Facility is available if the applicant’s age is above 70 years.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Free of cost visit will be offered to only those applicants who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana of the Rajasthan Government :-
- Senior Citizens of Rajasthan State are Eligible to Apply.
- The age of the Applicant should be 60 years or more.
- Applicant should be physically and mentally Fit.
- Applicant should not have any Contagious/ Spreadable Disease.
- Applicant and their Spouse should not be Income Tax Payees.
- The applicant should not have availed the benefit of this scheme earlier.
- Applicant and their Spouse should not be a Retired Gazetted Officer.

- Beneficiary Senior Citizen will require the following documents at the time of applying for a free visit to famous religious places under the Rajasthan Government’s Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana :-
- Jan Aadhaar Card/ Bhamashah Card of Applicant.
- Aadhaar Card.
- Medical Certificate from Government Doctor.
- Recent Color Passport Size Photograph.
- Mobile Number and Email.

- Online Application Form of Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan is available on the Devasthan Department Official Website.
- Visit the Website and choose “Click Here to Apply for Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana 2025”.
- A dashboard will appear from which the Applicant has to choose “Varistha Nagrik Tirtha Yatra Yojana” as shown below.
- Thereafter, Applicant will have to click on Apply for Tirth Yatra.
- Enter your Jan Aadhar ID and Click on Search.
- It is important to have a Janaadhaar Card, without it applicant cannot apply online for this scheme.
- Portal will fetch the details of the Applicant.
- Choose the name of the Applicant and select three pilgrimage places and set them according to priority wise.
- Now, Applicant will have to fill the Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana Online Application Form in the following steps :-

Through Rajasthan SSO Portal
- Beneficiary Applicants can also apply for Rajasthan Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana through the Single Sign On (SSO) Portal of the Rajasthan Government.
- Visit the SSO Portal and Click on Registration.
- Registration is required on the SSO Portal which can be done through the Jan Aadhaar Card Number or the Email ID.
- User Name and Password will be sent by the portal on the registered Email ID of the Applicant.
- Applicant will have to Login on the portal with the User Name or Password.
- After Login, search for E-Devasthan and click on it.
- The remaining application process of Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana is the same as we mentioned above in Application Process through Devasthan Website.
- Apply before the 10th of August 2025.
Through E Mitra Centre
- E Mitra Centre is also providing the facility to register senior citizens under the Varistha Nagrik Teertha Yatra Yojana of the Rajasthan Government.
- Visit your nearest E Mitra Centre with all the documents.
- E Mitra Agent present at the centre will fill the Varistha Nagrik Teertha Yatra Yojana application form on behalf of the applicant.
- The agent will also scan the documents and upload them to the portal.
- An acknowledgement receipt and a printout of the filled application form will be provided to the applicant after successful submission of the form.
- The last date of registration of the Senior Citizen Tirtha Yatra Yojana of the Rajasthan Government is 10-08-2025.
- Apply before the last date and avail the benefit of a free visit to pilgrimage places within and outside India.
