Introduction of SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025-2026: A Brief Insight

The SBI Foundation was established in the year 2015 and it is the CSR arm of the State Bank of India.
The foundation focuses on enhancing and improving education, healthcare, rural development, skill development, women empowerment, sports, environment, innovation and PwD Support.
SBI Foundation runs one of India’s largest scholarship programs named “SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Student Scholarship”.
The main objective behind starting this educational welfare program is to provide financial support to meritorious students of the country who belong to low-income families.
Through the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Student Scholarship, financial assistance as a scholarship will be provided to selected students throughout their studies.
The amount of scholarship available is from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 20,00,000/-, which will be distributed to students as per their educational courses.
Students studying from Class 9^th to Class 12^th will receive a Rs. 15,000/- scholarship under the SBI Asha Student Scholarship.
Undergraduate students who are pursuing their graduation will receive a scholarship amount of up to Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Students pursuing post-graduation will receive a scholarship amount up to Rs. 4,50,000/- throughout their studies.
Scholarships of up to Rs. 2,00,000/- and Rs. 5,00,000/- will be provided to IIT and IIM students, respectively, under the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Student Scholarship.
And, students who are pursuing their post graduation from foreign universities will be going to receive an scholarship amount of up to Rs. 20,00,000/- from SBI Foundation.
Diploma Students are not eligible to apply for a scholarship under this program.
Having an SBI Account is mandatory for shortlisting; students are advised to open an SBI account before applying.
There will be an income eligibility criterion in which the annual family income should be less than Rs. 3,00,000/- per year for school students, and should be less than Rs. 6,00,000/- per year for college students.
SBI Foundation allocated the fund of Rs. 90 Crore for the year 2025 for the smooth implementation of this scholarship program.
In the year 2025, SBI Foundation plans to select 23,230 Students for scholarship under its SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship.
Online Application is live for SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship and eligible students can apply for the scholarship till 15-11-2025 through the Official Portal.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

Beneficiary Students will receive the following benefits from SBI Foundation under its SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship :-

Financial Assistance as a Scholarship will be provided to Students.
Scholarship Amount will be provided to Students throughout their course.
Scholarship is subject to renewal every year, subject to eligibility criteria.

The following are the amounts of scholarship provided under the SBI Asha Student Scholarship :-

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

SBI Foundation will provide the scholarship for their studies to only those students who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025-2026 :-

For School Students (9^th to 12^th)

Only Indian Nationals are Eligible to Apply.
Applicant Student should be currently studying in Class 9^th to Class 12^th.
Beneficiary Student should have a minimum of 75% marks in their earlier examination.
The Annual Family Income of the Family should not be more than Rs. 3 Lakh per year.

For Undergraduate Students

Applicant Student should be an Indian National.
Applicant should be currently studying in any Undergraduate Course in the Top 300 Institutes as per NIRF Rankings.
Applicant Student should have secured a minimum 7 CGPA or 75% marks in the previous examination.
Student’s Family Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 6 Lakh per year.

For Post-Graduate Students

Indian Nationals are only Eligible to apply.
Student should be currently studying in a Post Graduate Course in Top 300 Institutes as per NIRF Rankings.
Beneficiary Student should have secured a minimum 75% or 7 CGPA in the earlier exam.
The Annual Family Income should be less than Rs. 6 Lakh per year.

For Medical Students

Students from PAN India are Eligible.
Beneficiary Student should be studying for a Medical degree in any year in a Top 300 Institute as per NIRF Rankings.
Student should have a 7 CGPA or 75% in their earlier academic year.
Family’s Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 6 Lakh.

For IIT Students

Applicant should be an Indian National.
A student should be currently studying in an Undergraduate Course at the Indian Institute of Technology. (IIT)
Applicant students should have a minimum 75% or 7 CGPA in the previous academic year.
The family’s annual income should be less than Rs. 6 Lakh per year.

For IIM Students

Scholarship is only for Indian Nationals.
Students pursuing MBA/ PGDM courses from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) are Eligible to apply.
In the previous academic year, students should have secured 75% or 7 CGPA marks.
Family Yearly Income should be less than Rs. 6 Lakh per year.

For Overseas Students

The student should be an Indian.
Students from the Scheduled Tribe and the Scheduled Caste Category are only Eligible for the Scholarship.
Beneficiary Students pursuing their Post Graduation from Top 200 QS or World University Ranking Institutions can apply.
Yearly Income of a Family should be less than Rs. 6 lakh.
Student should have secured 7 CGPA or 75% marks in their earlier academic year.

Documents Required to be Attached

Beneficiary Students will have to submit the following documents to avail the benefit of scholarship under the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship Scheme :-
- Educational Qualification Documents. (As per Eligibility)
- Family Income Certificate.
- Aadhaar Card of the Student.
- Admission Proof in College/ School/ University.
- Fee Receipt of the Current Year.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- Recent Colour Photograph of a Student.
- Caste Certificate. (If Applicable).
- Mobile Number.
- Email Address.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

SBI Foundation has a dedicated platform, an SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship Official Website, through which beneficiary students can apply online for the scholarship.
Visit the Official Portal, scroll down a little bit and choose your educational qualification and click on Apply Now.
A new Buddy4Study Portal will open. Click on Register.
Beneficiary Student can register themselves with their Gmail Account or by entering the details like, Name, Email ID, Mobile Number etc.
After successful registration, login with your Gmail ID or Mobile Number and Password.
Select SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025-2026.
Fill the Online Application Form of SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship Scheme and upload all the required documents in PDF format.
Check all the filled details once and click on the submit button to submit it.
Submitted SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship Online Application Form and documents will be verified by the officials of the SBI Foundation.
The selection of students for scholarship under the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Student Scholarship will be based on academic merit and the financial background of the applicants.
After the initial selection of students through their academic performance and their financial background, a telephonic interview will be conducted with the shortlisted students.
Students selected for a scholarship based on an interview will then be called for document verification.
Final Selected Students for scholarship under SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship will receive the scholarship amount directly into their bank account.
The Scholarship Amount will be provided to selected students to complete their course.
