The Tripura Government will issue a bond of Rs. 50,000/—in the name of every newborn girl child born in BPL Families. When the Girl Child attains the age of 18, the savings will amount to Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh at the time of maturity.

Introduction of Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Bharatiya Janta Party-led Tripura Government announced two major welfare schemes for the welfare of girls.
• On 09-03-2025, Health Minister Shri JP Nadda attends a public gathering in Agartala and reveals the name of these schemes.
• The First is “Mukhyamantri Konya Atmonirbhor Yojana” for college-going girl students, and the other is “Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana” for newborn girls.
• Here, the main objective of announcing Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana is to stop the honor killing of girls and improve the infant mortality rate of the state.The
• Tripura Government will provide financial assistance in the form of a savings bond at the time of bthe irth of the Girl Child.
• Saving Bond of Rs. 50,000/- under Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana will be created in the name of the girl child.
• The maturity time period of this savings bond is when the girl child attains the age of 18 years.
• Girl Child will have to claim the amount of Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana once the maturity period is over.
• Girl Beneficiary will get approximately Rs. 8 Lakh to Rs. 10 Lakh from the Saving Bond after the maturity period got over.
• This amount can be used for marriage expenses or to pursue higher education.
• Only Below Poverty Line (BPL) Families are eligible to enroll their newborn girl child under Tthe ripura Government’s Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana.
• At present, this scheme is just an announcement and only this much information is available.
• Tripura Government will very soon launch this scheme in the whole of the state.
• After launch, this scheme will also be known by some other major and popular names which are “Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Scheme Tripura” or “Chief Minister Balika Samriddhi Scheme Tripura” or “Chief Minister Balika Samriddhi Yojana Tripura”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• The following benefits will be provided to each eligible BPL family in which a girl child is born under the Tripura Government’s Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana :-
  • Rs. 50,000/- Saving Bond will be created in the Name of the Newborn Girl Child.
  • This Saving Bond will mature when the Girl Child attains the Age of 18 Years.
  • The Approximate Amount a Girl Child will get after the maturity period is Rs. 8,00,000/- to Rs. 10,00,000/-.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The Government of Tripura will provide the benefit of a Saving Bond of Rs. 50,000/- to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana :-
  • Families in which a Girl Child is Born.
  • Family should belong to the Below Poverty Line Category. (BPL)
  • Having a BPL Ration Card is mandatory.
  • The remaining Eligibility Criteria will be released after its launch.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The expected documents that are required to be attached with the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana Application Form of the Tripura Government are mentioned below :-
  • Tripura Permanent Resident Certificate. (PRTC)
  • Aadhaar Card of Women Beneficiary.
  • Recent Color Passport Size Photograph.
  • Birth Certificate or Certificate from a Medical Institution as proof of birth.
  • Mobile Number.
  • BPL Ration Card.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana was announced with another girl-centric scheme named Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana on 09-03-2025 by Health Minister Shri JP Nadda.
• In the coming days, Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana will be implemented in the whole of Tripura.
• The concerned Department will draft the guidelines of this scheme and present it in front of the cabinet.
• After the cabinet gave its final approval, this scheme will be implemented.
• It totally depends on the concerned department to accept application forms from eligible beneficiaries through the Online Application Form or through Offline Application Form.
• In case of offline mode, the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana Application Form would be available at Anganwadi Centers and ASHA/ ANM Workers will help women beneficiaries to register their girl child under this scheme.
• And if the mode of application is online, then there would be a possibility that the Tripura Government launches the Official Website of Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana to accept applications online.
• The application process will only clear once this scheme is officially launched.
• Beneficiaries will have to wait little bit more in order to avail the benefit of the Saving Bond of Rs. 50,000/- for their Girl Child.
