Introduction of West Bengal Krishak Bandhu Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Farmers are the backbone of any country in the world.
• They produce food for the population and also contribute to the GDP of the Country.
• But Agricultural Activity is a risky job in which farmers have to face the risk of crop loss.
• To protect farmers from unwanted losses, every State Government runs a financial assistance scheme on their own end.

• The main aim behind launching Krishak Bandhu Prakalpa is to provide financial security cover to farmers of West Bengal.

• Financial Assistance will be provided under the Krishak Bandhu Death Benefit Scheme in case of the untimely demise of a Registered Farmer.
• The following financial assistance will be provided to the next of kin in case of untimely demise of the farmer under the Krishak Bandhu Death Benefit Scheme :-
  • One-Time Financial Grant of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
• Every Farmer of West Bengal who has cultivable agricultural land is eligible for financial assistance under the Krishak Bandhu Scheme.
• Having a Voter Identity Card as a Farmer is mandatory to avail the benefit.
• Financial Assistance to Farmers underthe  Krishak Bandhu Scheme will be provided in two equal instalments at the time of the Rabi and Kharif seasons.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• The following financial assistance will be provided to the Eligible Farmers of West Bengal under the Krishak Bandhu Scheme :-
  

  Rs. 10,000/- per Acre per Year will be provided to those Farmers who have 1 Acre or More Cultivable Agricultural Land. Rs. 4,000/- per Acre per Year will be provided to those Farmers who have less than 1 Acre of Cultivable Agricultural Land. Rs. 2,00,000/- will be provided in case of untimely demise of the Registered Farmer.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The following eligibility criteria are required to be fulfilled to avail the benefit of financial assistance under Krishak Bandhu Scheme of the Government of West Bengal :-
  

  Farmer Should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal. The Age of Farmer Should be between 18 Years to 60 Years. Farmer Should have Cultivable Agricultural Land. Farmer Should have any of the following documents related to Agricultural Land :- Khata Khatauni of Land. Patta issued by Government. Forest Patta. Recorded Share Cropper.

  Any of the Following Documents related to Agricultural Land :- Cultivable Land Record of Right. Patta issued by Government. Forest Patta. Land Record Recorded with Barga. Farmer Voter Identity Card. Farmer Aadhar Card. Bank Account Details. Farmer Passport Size Photo. Mobile Number of Farmer.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• The only way to apply for the Krishak Bandhu Scheme of the West Bengal Government is through Offline Application Form.
• Application Form of Krishak Bandhu Scheme is available free of cost in the office of the Gram Panchayat.
• Collect the Application Form of the Krishak Bandhu Scheme and fill it correctly.
• Attach all the required documents to the Application Form.
• Attaching the Voter Identity Card of the Farmer with the Application Form is mandatory.

• Death Claim Application Form of Krishak Bandhu Scheme is available free of cost in the office of the Gram Panchayat.
• Collect the Application Form, fill it correctly and attach the documents mentioned below with it :-
  • Identity Proof of Deceased Farmer.
  • Death Certificate of Farmer.
  • Claimant Certificate.
  • Agricultural Land Details.
  • Claimant Self Declaration Form.
  • Bank Account Details.
• Submit the Death Claim Application Form along with all the documents to the office of the Gram Panchayat.
• Application Form and documents will be scrutinised by the concerned officials of the Department of Agriculture.
• After verification, financial assistance will be transferred in the bank account of the claimant.
