The Government of Chhattisgarh under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana will provide financial assistance for the construction of the house. IP Area residents will get Rs. 1,30,000/- and Non-IP Area residents will get Rs. 1,20,000/- for house construction.

Introduction of Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Chhattisgarh Government conducted a socio-economic survey in the year 2023.
• A report says that more than 10 lakh families in Chhattisgarh are residing in kutcha houses.
• Then, the Congress-led Chhattisgarh Government started “Mukhyamantri Grameen Awas Nyay Yojana” in July 2023.
• The government’s main objective behind starting this scheme is to support homeless people financially so that they can build their dream home.
• But the Government has changed in Chhattisgarh, and the  Bharatiya Janta Party led the new Chhattisgarh Government, which changed the name of the scheme to “Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana”. (मुख्यमंत्री आवास योजना)
• This scheme is implemented by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of the Chhattisgarh Government.
• Financial Assistance will be provided by the Government of Chhattisgarh to all houseless people under its Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.
• Government of Chhattisgarh will provide different financial assistance according to the area where beneficiaries are currently residing.
• The first type of Area is an IP Area, which is a Hilly and Inaccessible Area, and the financial assistance provided for house construction is Rs. 1,30,000/-.
• The second type of Area is Non-IP Area, which is a plain area and the financial assistance provided for the construction of the house is Rs. 1,20,000/-.
• Financial Assistance provided under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana will be distributed in instalments.
• It is mandatory to have a minimum of 25 Sq. Meters of land for the construction of the house.
• Apart from financial assistance for house construction, work will also be provided under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana to beneficiaries.
• Non-IP Area residents will get 90 days of work under MGNREGA, and IP Area residents will get 95 days of work.
• A separate financial assistance of Rs. 12,000/- will also be provided under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government for the construction of a toilet.
• The implementation time period of this scheme will be extended till 31-03-2027.
• Beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana are not eligible to apply for financial assistance under this scheme.
• The other major and popular names of this scheme are “Chief Minister Awas Yojana Chhattisgarh” or “Mukhyamantri Awas Scheme Chhattisgarh” or “Chief Minister Housing Scheme Chhattisgarh”.
• No online application form for Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government is available.
• Collect the Application Form from the Gram Sabha or the Gram Panchayat Office and avail the benefit of financial assistance for the construction of the house.
• If the beneficiary completes their house within 18 months, then an additional reward of Rs. 32,850/- under the Mukhyamantri Griha Pravesh Samman Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh.

• Women Members in a Family can apply for “Mahatari Vandan Yojana” in which a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month will be provided.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Eligible Beneficiaries will get the below-mentioned benefits under the Chhattisgarh Government’s Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana :-
  • Monetary Assistance for House Construction will be provided to Houseless persons.
  • Rs. 1,30,000/- will be provided to those Beneficiaries who are residing in IP Areas. (Hilly and Inaccessible Area)
  • Rs. 1,20,000/- will be provided to those Beneficiaries who are residing in Non-IP Areas. (Plain Area)
  • A house will be constructed on 25 Sq. Mtrs Area with Bathroom and Kitchen.
  • The government will also provide work under the MGNREGA Scheme to Beneficiaries.
  • IP Area Residents will get 95 Days’ Work and Non-IP Area Residents will get 90 Days Work.
  • Rs. 12,000/- Assistance will be provided under the Swach Bharat Mission for the Toilet.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance for the construction of a house will only be provided to those beneficiary applicants who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana :-
  • Permanent residents of Chhattisgarh are Only Eligible to Apply.
  • Applicant should not be a Beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
  • Applicant should not have their Own Pucca House.
  • Applicant should have a Minimum of 25 Sq. Meters of Land to Build a House.

Documents Required to be Attached

• Beneficiary Applicants will have to attach the following documents with the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government :-
  • Domicile or Any Residence Proof of Chhattisgarh.
  • Beneficiary Aadhaar Card.
  • Certificate of Caste. (If Applicable)
  • Family Income Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details with IFSC Code.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Homeless Certificate.
  • Documents Related to Land.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Houseless persons or persons who are residing in a kutcha house can apply for financial assistance for house construction under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government through the application form.
• Application Forms are free of cost, which can be collected from the below-mentioned offices :-
  • Gram Panchayat Office/ Gram Sabha Office in Rural Area.
  • Municipal Corporation Office in an Urban Area.
• Collect the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana and fill it correctly without making any mistakes.
• Attach all the documents with the application form.
• Submit the application form with all documents attached to the office where the application form is collected.
• Initial verification will be done by the concerned officials and a list of eligible beneficiaries will be made.
• Officials will also visit the spot for ground verification.
• The list of Selected Beneficiaries will then be forwarded to the Panchayat and Rural Development Department for the disbursal of financial assistance for house construction.
• Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana amount for house construction will be disbursed directly in the bank account of the beneficiary in installments.
• Official Website of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana is available, but there will be no facility to apply online.
  
• Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Application Status can be seen by visiting the Gram Panchayat or Gram Sabha Office.
