The Uttarakhand Government, under its Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana, will provide Entrepreneurship Development and Skill Training, Startup Bootcamps, NEC Vocational Courses, and many more benefits to the state’s youth and students.

Introduction of Uttarakhand Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Uttarakhand Government launched a one-of-a-kind scheme for students and youths of the State named “Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana” on 24-08-2023.
• The main objective of the government in starting this scheme is to encourage youth and students of the State to take the initiative and start their own business and startup for self-employment.
• Devbhoomi Udyamita Scheme is implemented by the Department of Higher Education of the Uttarakhand Government in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India of Ahmedabad.
• The name of the scheme is made up of two special words that describe the meaning of the scheme so specifically.
• The first word is Devbhoomi, which means “Devo ki Bhumi” which is Uttarakhand, and the other word is Udyamita, which means “Entrepreneurship”.
• Uttarakhand Government will now provide Entrepreneurship Development Training, Skill Training, Startup Bootcamps and NEP Vocational Courses under Devebhumi Udyamita Yojana.
• Experienced mentors will share their valuable thoughts during the training programmes, which can nourish the skills of selected students.
• Students who completed their training will also get Grants, Loan,s and Seed Funding from partners for their startup business.
• To date, more than 26,000 enrolled themselves under Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana, out of which 14,260 students attended the Startup Boot Camps, 8,719 students attended the Entrepreneurship Development Programme Training. (EDP)
• Student can choose their area of interest for training from the Manufacturing, Trading and Service Sector.
• Some of the available areas of interest which will be chosen at the time of enrollment are :-

• Applicant can select any one of the areas of interest, take skill training in the selected business, and start their own business for self-employment activity.
• Registration for entrepreneurship training for students in Uttarakhand’s Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana can be done through its Official Portal.
• Students can also explore the Central Government’s “Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme” in which short-term internship will be provided in the best companies.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Uttarakhand Government will provide the following benefits to all eligible students and youths under its Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana :-
  • Entrepreneurship and Skill Training will be provided to Selected Students.
  • Loans, Grants, and Seed Funding will also be provided to start a Business.
  • Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India will provide the EDP Training.
  • Startup Bootcamps and Sensitization Workshops for Students.
  • NEP Vocational Courses.
  • Startup Mentorship.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Free Entrepreneurship Development and Skill Training, NEP Course or Bootcamps benefits will be provided to only those beneficiaries who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana of the Government of Uttarakhand :-
  • Permanent Residents, Young Students of Uttarakhand, are Eligible.
  • Students should be currently studying in any University or College in Uttarakhand.
  • Youth Exploring Livelihood Opportunities are also Eligible to apply.

• The following documents will be required at the time of applying for EDP and Skill Training, Bootcamp or NEP Course under Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana of Uttarakhand Government :-
  • Applicant Aadhaar Card.
  • Recent Color Photo.
  • Samarth ID. (If Available)
  • Pitch Deck Document.
  • Educational Documents.
  • Mobile Number and Email.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana has its Official Portal through which beneficiary youth and students can apply for EDP and Skill Training and Bootcamps.
  
• Visit the Official Portal and Click on Student Registration.
  
• Three programs i.e., Startup Bootcamp Programme, Entrepreneurship Development Programme and NEP Course will appear on screen, out of which the student/ applicant will have to select one.
• After that student has to choose the name of the district and the location for participation in the programme.
  
• Beneficiary Applicant will then have to fill Personal Details.
  
• Fill in the source of Family Income by clicking on one checkbox.
  
• If the applicant selects the Entrepreneurship Training Programme, then he/ she has to choose their area of interest, their sector of interest, they have to explain their business plan and upload a pitch deck document.
  
• Preview the filled details and click on the Submit Button.
• Registered Applicants will be informed through Email or SMS about the organization of training related to their chosen area of interest.
• Applicant can call on “8707728907” or drop an email at “duy-uttarakhand@ediindia.org” in case any help or assistance is required regarding Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana of the Government of Uttarakhand.
