The Bihar Government, under its Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana, will select 121 fellows and post them in Government Departments to work with government officials for a period of 2 years. Selected Fellows will receive a stipend ranging from Rs. 80,000 per month to Rs. 1,50,000 per month, depending on their level of experience.

Introduction of Bihar Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Bihar Government had announced and launched lots of welfare schemes for the people of the State in the year 2025.
• The direct benefits transfer scheme was “Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana” in which Rs. 10,000/- will be provided for business to women and the recently announced one was “Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana” (मुख्यमंत्री फेलोशिप योजना) alias “Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme”.
• Cabinet of the Bihar Government approved the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana for students on 09-09-2025.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide first-hand experience to students so that they can get a chance to work closely with the government and gain a real-time administrative experience.
• Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana in Bihar will be implemented by the General Administration Department of the Government in collaboration with IIM Bodh Gaya.
• Bihar Government will select 121 experienced fellows under the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Scheme and post them in the Government Department to help the Government Officials in their work.
• 121 fellows selected for fellowship under the Bihar Government’s CM Fellowship Yojana will also be provided a monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 80,000/- per month to Rs. 1,50,000/- per month according to their experience.
• The initial time period of the fellowship is 2 years.
• Apart from the fellowship, selected fellows will also receive training from IIM Bodh Gaya and after the successful completion of training, fellows will receive certification from IIM Bodh Gaya.
• Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana of the Bihar Government is only for Post-Graduation Passed Students who have experience from 3+ years to 10+ years.
• Bihar Government allocated more than Rs. 31 crore for the smooth implementation of the scheme.
• Online Application for Bihar Government’s Mukhyamantri Fellowship Scheme is started and applicant students can apply online on IIM Bodh Gaya Official Website.
• Eligible Students can also apply for the Central Government Internship Scheme named “PM Internship Scheme” in which short-term internship with a monthly stipend will be provided to selected students.

• Online Application under Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana of Government of Bihar can be submitted in 4 cycles which ends on 31 January 2026. The following are the Application Deadline and Tentative Interview Date of Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme :-

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Bihar Government under its Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana will provide the following benefits to all eligible students :-
  • 121 Students will be selected for the Fellowship.
  • The period of fellowship is 2 years.
  • Selected Fellows will get a Posting in the Government Departments.
  • Selected Fellows will receive a Monthly Stipend from Rs. 80,000/- to Rs. 1,50,000/-.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• 2-year fellowship with monthly stipend from Rs. 80,000/- to Rs. 1,50,000/- under Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana (CM Fellowship Scheme) of the Bihar Government will be provided to only those students who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the scheme :-
  

  Applicant Students should be a Permanent Resident of Bihar. Applicant should have passed their Post-Graduation with 55% marks in :- Management. Policy. Development. Regional Planning. Public Administration. Science and Technology. And Allied Fields. Applicant Student should have Valid CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ UGC0NET/ CSIR-NET Test Scores. If student completed their masters from Institutions of National Importance, Central Universities and National Law Universities then no need to submit the test scores.

Eligible Allied Fields

• If any students passed their post graduation from allied field then they are also eligible to apply for fellowship under Bihar Government’s Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme. The list of allied fields is mentioned below :-
