Introduction of Rajasthan Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Rajasthan Government launched Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana (राजस्थान सिन्धु दर्शन तीर्थ यात्रा योजना) in the State on 01-04-2016.
• The main objective behind starting this scheme is to provide financial support to devotees who wish to visit the Sindhu River at Ladakh to participate in Sindhu Darshan Utsav.
• Rajasthan Government’s Devasthan Department is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Any resident of the Rajasthan State can now visit the sacred Sindhu River at Ladakh without thinking about the expenses.
• The Rajasthan Government is reimbursing the travelling expenses incurred during the visit to the Sindhu River at Ladakh.
• 50% of the travel expenses subject to a maximum of Rs. 15,000/- is the reimbursed amount applicable under Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan.
• The amount of assistance is payable only after the visit of the devotee to the Sindhu River subject to producing the proof of expenses such as tickets, receipts, Bills etc.
• Any permanent resident of Rajasthan whose age is not less than 21 years and who visited the Sindhu River at Ladakh on or before 31-10-2025 is eligible to apply for reimbursement of travel expenses under Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana of the Rajasthan Government.
• Income Tax Payee, Current or Former Central or State Government Employee or a person living on Bhiksha Vritti are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
• Currently the mode of application is offline and the eligible beneficiary applicants can collect the Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Scheme Application Form from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of the Devasthan Department.
• The amount of reimbursement will be transferred by the Devasthan Department directly to the bank account of the applicant after thorough verification.
• Beneficiary Applicants can apply for reimbursement of expenses under Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana on or before 31-12-2025.
• Senior Citizens of Rajasthan can also apply for “Varistha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana” in which a free-of-cost visit to the famous sacred religious places is arranged by the Rajasthan Government.
• Beneficiaries from the Scheduled Caste Category can apply for “Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Panch Tirtha Yojana” in which the Government of Rajasthan is arranging the facility for the visit to 5 sacred places related to the life of Baba Saheb.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Rajasthan Government will provide the following benefits under Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana to those applicants who visited the Sindhu River at Ladakh on or before 31-10-2025 :-
  • Financial Assistance will be provided in the form of Reimbursement.
  • Expenses incurred on travelling to Sindhu Darshan will be reimbursed to the Applicant.
  • The Amount of Reimbursement is applicable up to 50% or a Maximum of Rs. 15,000/-.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The benefit of Reimbursement of Expenses incurred on the Pilgrimage Visit to Sindhu Darshan at Ladakh will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana :-
  • Permanent Resident Applicants of Rajasthan are Eligible.
  • The Age of the Applicant should be 21 years or more.
  • Applicant should not be a Income Tax Payer.
  • Applicant should not be a Current or Retired Employee of Central or State Government.
  • Applicant should have completed their Pilgrimage Visit of Sindhu Darshan before 31-10-2025.
  • Applicant should not be lived on Bhiksha Vritti.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The documents that have to be attached with the Application Form of Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana of the Rajasthan Government are mentioned below :-
  • Domicile/ Residence Proof of Rajasthan.
  • Jan Aadhaar Card.
  • Proof of Expenses incurred on Pilgrimage Visit. (Tickets, Receipts)
  • Certificate from Government Registered Society or Trust of Ladakh.
  • Photos of Sindhu Darshan Ghat at Sindhu River.
  • Inner Line Permit of Khardungla Pass.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Recent Colour Photograph.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Aadhaar Card Number of the Applicant.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Beneficiaries who visited the Sindhu River at Ladakh on or before 31-10-2025 can apply for reimbursement of expenses incurred on the journey under the Government of Rajasthan’s Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana.
• The mode of application is offline and the Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana Application Form can be collected from the office of the Devasthan Department of the Rajasthan Government.
• Take the Application Form and fill it correctly.
• Attach all the tickets, receipts or any type of proof of expense to the Application Form.
• Submit the Application Form of Sindhu Darshan Teerth Yatra Yojana along with all the documents to the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of the Devasthan Department.
• The Assistant Commissioner of the Devasthan Department will initially verify the received application form and documents and prepare a list of eligible beneficiaries.
• The list of beneficiaries selected for reimbursement of expenses under Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana will be forwarded to the Office of the Commissioner of the Devasthan Department at Udaipur for further approval.
• Devasthan Department will further shortlist the 200 applicants through a lottery-based system.
• Applicants selected for the benefit of Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Yojana will be notified through SMS on their registered mobile number.
• The amount of reimbursement, which is a maximum up to Rs. 15,000/- will be transferred directly into the bank account of the beneficiary applicant as promised by the Rajasthan Government under the Sindhu Darshan Tirth Yatra Scheme.
