Introduction of Assam Prerana Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Assam Government launched the most prominent educational welfare scheme in the State on 28th of November 2025.
• The name of the scheme is “Prerana Scheme”.
• The main objective of the Assam Government behind starting this scheme is to support students so that they can afford the study materials and books.
• Assam Government also aims to reduce the dropout rates of students and increase the overall pass percentage in Class 10th Board Exams.
• Department of Education of the Government of Assam is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Students of Class 10th who are currently preparing for their board examinations are eligible to receive a stipend under the Prerana Scheme.
• Each eligible student will receive Rs. 300/- per month for the duration of 6 months directly in their bank account under this scheme.
• This means, each student of class 10th who is going to give the board examination conducted by Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) or CBSE (Only Adarsha Vidyalayas) will receive a total of Rs. 1,800/- for their confidence boost.
• Assam Government estimates that around 4.4 lakh students will going to receive the monthly stipend of Rs. 300/- under Prerana Asoni Scheme.
• Eligible Students can avail the benefit of a monthly stipend of Rs. 300/- under the Prerona Scheme by applying through the Application Form which is available at your respective school.
• Contact the Principal/ Headmaster of the School in case any help or assistance is required regarding the Assam Government’s Prerana Asoni Scheme.
• Further, the eligible students can also apply for “Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme” and “Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Assam Government under Prerana Asoni Scheme will provide the following benefits to all eligible Class 10th Students who are preparing for their Board Examinations :-
  • Monthly Financial Assistance will be provided to Students of Class 10th for their board exam preparation.
  • Rs. 300/- per month will be provided to beneficiary students.
  • Per Per-month assistance will be applicable for 6 months only.
  • The student will receive a Total of Rs. 1,800/- under the Prerona Asoni Scheme.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The financial assistance of Rs. 300/- per month will be provided to those beneficiaries who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the Prerana Scheme of the Government of Assam :-
  • Permanent Resident Students of Assam are Eligible.
  • The student should currently studying in Class 10th and preparing for Board Examinations.
  • The Board of Class 10th Examination should be ASSEB or CBSE of Adarsh Vidyalaya.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The documents that are required to be attached with the Application Form of the Prerona Scheme of the Assam Government are mentioned below :-
  • Aadhaar Card of the Student.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Educational Qualification Documents.
  • School Identity Card.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Students of Class 10th can apply through their respective schools for the Prerana Scheme of the Government of Assam to receive the monthly financial assistance.
• The prescribed Application Form of the Prerana Scheme can be collected from the school.
• Beneficiary Student will have to collect the application form and fill it correctly.
• Attach all the required documents to the Prerona Scheme Application Form.
• Submit the Application Form along with all the attached documents to the respective school.
• The Headmaster/ Principal will receive the Prerana Scheme Application Form and verify the details.
• The verified data of the students will be submitted to the portal by the Principal/ Headmaster.
• Submitted Application Forms of the Prerana Scheme will be verified by the Officials of the Department of Education.
• Selected Students will receive the financial assistance of Rs. 300/- directly in their bank account under the Assam Government’s Prerana Asoni Scheme.
• It is mandatory to maintain 75% attendance in the classroom.
