Introduction of Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Assam Government launched the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme on 08-08-2024.
- The main objective of the Assam Government behind starting this scheme is to encourage girl students to pursue for higher education, to reduce dropouts among girls students, and to stop early girl marriages.
- This scheme will be implemented by the Government of Assam’s Higher Education Directorate withthe Department of Higher Education.
- Monthly Financial Assistance as an Admission Incentive will be provided to all eligible girl beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme.
- Girl Students who are currently studying in Class 11th, First Year of BA, B.Sc, B.Com, and First Year of MA, M.Sc, M.Com, B.Ed are eligible to get monthly scholarship under this scheme.
- The scholarship will only provided to those girl beneficiaries who are studying in the above-mentioned educational courses in the Government of Assam and Venture Educational Institutions within Assam.
- Girl Students studying in Private Colleges are not eligible to apply for scholarships under the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme.
- Assam Government will provide a total scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- per year to Class 11th Girl Students which will be disbursed as Rs. 1,000/- per month for 10 months.
- Scholarship Amount of Rs. 12,500/- per year will be provided to first-year graduate course girl students which will disburse as Rs. 1,250/- per month.
- And Rs. 25,000/- per year will be provided to first-year postgraduate girl students which will disburse as Rs. 2,500/- per month.
- Girl Student will not have to apply separately for this scheme in sthe econd year, head of educational institutions will submit the certificate of beneficiary continuity in institution.
- Beneficiary Girl Students of the Pragyan Bharati Scheme and Banikanta Kakati Award are not eligible for scholarships under the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme.
- Now from the year 2025, female students pursuing Self Financed Courses in Government Educational Institutions are also eligible to get scholarships under the Assam Government’s Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme.
- Government allocated Rs. 391/- Crore for the year 2025-2026 for the smooth implementation of this scheme.
- Government aims to cover 10 lakh girl beneficiaries for the next 3 years under this scheme.
- Married Girls are not eligible, but married girl pursuing Post Graduation Courses or B.Ed then she is eligible.
- This scheme has some other popular names also which are “Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Scheme Assam” or “Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Aasoni Assam” or “Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Yojana”.
- No Official Website or Online Application Form for the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme is available.
- Girl Students can takethe Application Form from the concerned educational institute and submit it to the Nodal Officer in order to avail the benefit of per month scholarship under this scheme.
- Contact your school, college, university, or Office of Higher Education Department in case any help or assistance is required regarding scheme.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Each Girl Student who are studying in Class 11th, Graduation First Year, Post Graduation First Year and in B.Ed course will get the following scholarship from Assam Government under Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme :-
- Monthly Financial Assistance will be provided to eligible girl beneficiaries.
- Rs. 10,000/- per year to Class 11th Girl Students. (Rs. 1,000/- per Month for 10 Months)
- Rs. 12,500/- per year to Graduation Course Girl Student. (Rs. 1,250/- per Month for 10 Months)
- Rs. 25,000/- per year to Post Graduation/ B.Ed Course Girl Students. (Rs. 2,500/- per Month for 10 Months)
- Assistance Amount will dbe irectly paid in the bank account of Girl Beneficiary every month.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Government of Assam will provide monthly scholarship assistance to only those female student beneficiaries who fulfill the following eligibility conditions of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme :-
- Permanent Resident Girl Students of Assam are Eligible to Apply.
- Girl Students should be currently studying in any of the following courses :-
- Class 11th.
- Graduation Course. (BA, B.Sc, B.Com)
- Post Graduation Course. (MA, M.Sc, M.Com)
- B.Ed.
- Girl Students should be studying in the Government of Assam or Venture Schools, Colleges and Universities.
- Girl Students studying Self Financed Courses in Government Institutes are also eligible.
- There will be no income limit, all girls are eligible irrespective of their financial status.
Ineligibility Conditions of the Scheme
- If any girl student falls within the ambit of any of the below-mentioned ineligibility criteria of the scheme then she is not eligible to avail the benefit of scholarship assistance from the Assam Government under the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme :-
- MP/ MLA and Minister’s Daughters.
- Married Girl Students are not Eligible. (For PG and B.Ed, Married Girls Eligible)
- Beneficiary of Pragyan Bharati Scheme and Banikanta Kakati Award. (If opt-out from the scheme then she is eligible)
- Girl Students studying in Private Schools, Colleges and Universities.
- In Service Girls Pursuing B.Ed Course on Deputation.
Documents Required to be Attached
- Beneficiary Girls Students will have to attach the following documents with the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme of Assam Government :-
- Class 10th Marksheet and Certificate. (For Class 11th Beneficiary)
- Class 12th Marksheet and Certificate. (For First Year Degree Student)
- Graduation Marksheet and Certificate. (For Post Graduation and B.Ed Students)
- Recent Color Passport Size Photograph of Girl Student.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- Mobile Number.
- Girl Student Aadhaar Card.
How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Eligible Girl Students can apply for monthly assistance under the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme by applying through the Application Form.
- Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme Application Form is available in the School, College, and University in which girl student is currently studying.
- Collect the Application Form from the Nodal Officer of the Educational Institution and fill in the data correctly.
- Attach all the required documents with the Application Form.
- Now, Submit the Application Form of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme along with all the documents in the office of the Nodal Officer or in the Office of Registrar/ Principal.
- Registrar/ Principal/ Nodal Officer of the Institution will verify the received application forms and documents and enter it in the portal for auto-verification.
- Concerned Officials of Higher Education will verify the submitted details and provide final approval to sanction financial assistance as a scholarship under the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme.
- Each eligible girl beneficiary will then receive a monthly scholarship amount directly in their bank account.
- Application Status of Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme can checked by contacting the Nodal Officer of the concerned educational institution.
- From the second year, of course, female beneficiaries don’t have any need to submit application again.
- The head of the Educational Institution provides the certificate about girl student’s continuity in the educational institution.
