Government of Andhra Pradesh under its NTR Baby Kit Scheme will provide a baby care kit consisting of 11 essential and daily use nutritional items for newborn babies. This Scheme will soon be relaunched by the government in the state.

Introduction of Andhra Pradesh NTR Baby Kit Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Andhra Pradesh Government had originally launched this NTR Baby Kit Scheme back in the year 2016 when the TDP was in power.
• This scheme was closed by the YSR-led Andhra Pradesh Government in the year 2019.
• Now, when the Telugu Desam Party won the election and formed the government in Andhra Pradesh in the year 2024, the government plans to launch this scheme again in the state.
• The main objective of the government behind starting the NTR Baby Kit Scheme is to improve the nutritional status of new mothers and their newborns by encouraging them to deliver their child in government health care institutions.
• Andhra Pradesh Government’s Department of Health, Medical & Family Welfare will implement the NTR Baby Care Kit Scheme in the state.
• Government under the NTR Baby Kit Scheme will distribute a pack of kit which consists 11 daily use essential items for a baby.
• Each baby kit consists bed for the baby, a dress, a nappy, powder, oil, shampoo, soap, a toy etc.
• Baby Kit under Andhra Pradesh Government’s NTR Baby Kit Scheme will be provided to only those beneficiary mothers who deliver their child in any one of the institution :-
  • Government Hospital.
  • Primary Health Centres. (PHCs)
  • Urban PHCs. (UPHCs)
  • Community Health Centres. (CHCs)
  • Or any other Public Health Care Institution.
• Women beneficiaries who deliver their child at home or in a public hospital are not eligible to get baby care kits under the NTR Baby Kit Pathakam of the AP Government.
• The government will distribute these kits through Anganwadi Centres or directly from government health care institutions.
• Registration of the NTR Baby Care Kit Scheme will be done by the Angawadi Worker at the Anganwadi Centre after the delivery.
• Andhra Pradesh Government issued a tender process for the procurement of NTR Baby Care Kits.
• Very soon, this scheme will again be relaunched in the state.
• Beneficiary Mother will have to wait a little bit more. We will update the information about the NTR Baby Care Kit Scheme if we get any.
• After the first antenatal care checkup, pregnant women can also register themselves under “Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana” in which financial assistance will be provided for childbirth.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Andhra Pradesh Government under its NTR Baby Kit Scheme, will provide the following benefits to all those mothers who deliver their newborn baby in a Government Hospital or Public Health Care Institutions :-
  • A Kit worth Rs. 1,410/- will be provided to mothers for their newborn baby.
  • Each Kit contains 11 essential items required to care for a baby.

List of Items in Baby Care Kit

• The following items for the baby will be provided by the Andhra Pradesh Government to the mothers of newborns under the NTR Baby Kit Scheme :-
  • Baby Bed with Attached Mosquito Protecting Net.
  • Baby Mackintosh.
  • Baby Dress.
  • Baby Towels.
  • Baby Nappy Washable.
  • Baby Powder 200 Gms.
  • Baby Shampoo 100 Ml.
  • Baby Oil 200 Ml.
  • Baby Soaps 150 Gms.
  • Baby Soap Box 1 in Number.
  • Baby Rattle Toy.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Baby Care Kits under Andhra Pradesh Government’s Baby Care Kit Scheme will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the scheme :-
  • Permanent Resident New Mothers of Andhra Pradesh are Eligible to Apply.
  • Birth of a Child should be in any Government Hospital or Public Health Care Centres.
  • Benefits will not be provided to those mothers who deliver their child in Private Health Care Institutions.

Documents Required to be Attached

• Beneficiary Mother will have to submit the following documents at the Anganwadi Centre to get baby care kits under the NTR Baby Kit Scheme of the Andhra Pradesh Government :-
  • Mother Aadhaar Card.
  • PAN Card of Mother.
  • Father Aadhaar Card.
  • Permanent Residence Proof of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Mobile Number.
  • MAMTA/ POSHAN Card.
  • Hospital Discharge Sheet.
  • Immunization Card of a Child.
  • Any Other Document that shows the Institutional Birth of a Baby.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Mothers who delivered their child in any Government Hospital or Public Health Care Institution can apply for the NTR Baby Kit Scheme of the Andhra Pradesh Government through the Application Form.
• Application Form of NTR Baby Kit Scheme is available free of cost any your areas Anganwadi Centres.
• Visit the Anganwadi Centre and Collect the NTR Baby Care Kit Scheme Application Form.
• Fill out the application form correctly and attach all the required documents with the application form.
• It is mandatory to attach the Hospital Discharge Sheet or Certificate with the application form.
• Anganwadi Sevika will help the beneficiary to fill out the application form.
• Submit the NTR Baby Care Kit Scheme Application Form along with all the documents to the Anganwadi Centre.
• Anganwadi Sevika will verify the received application form and documents.
• Selected Application Form of the beneficiary mother will be forwarded by Anganwadi Sevika to the Department of Health, Medical & Family Welfare.
• Distribution of Baby Kits under the Andhra Pradesh Government’s NTR Baby Kit Scheme will be done at Anganwadi Centres.
• Anganwadi Sevika will have to click the picture of the beneficiary at the time of distributing the baby care kits to the mother beneficiaries.
• Contact the Anganwadi Worker in case any help or assistance is required regarding the NTR Baby Kit Scheme of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
