Introduction of Assam Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme: A Brief Insight

  • Assam Finance Minister Smt. Ajanta Neog presented the budget for the year 2025-2026 in the assembly on 10th of March 2025.
  • She announced two major educational welfare schemes for the students of Assam.
  • First one is “Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme in which one-time financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/- will be provided to recently graduated students.
  • Another one of which we are talking in this article is “Chief Minister Anuprerana Scheme”.
  • Both scheme has two major words “Jibon” which means “Life” and “Prerana/ Anuprerana” which means “Motivation/ Inspiration”.
  • Chief Minister Anuprerana Scheme is specifically for research scholars and the Assam Government started it with an objective to provide assistance to research scholars during their scholastic journey, promotion of academic excellence and innovation in Assam.
  • Employment & Craftsmen Training Directorate of the Assam Government is the implementing agency of this scheme.
  • One-time financial Assistance to research scholars will be provided by the Assam Government under the Chief Minister’s Jibon Anuprerana Scheme.
  • Research Scholars will receive the benefits of one-time monetary assistance of Rs. 25,000/- as help for their research work.
  • And, if a research scholar is disabled/ divyang, then he/ she will get Rs. 50,000/- financial assistance under the Assam Government’s Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme.
  • Both male and female research scholars admitted to a PhD program in any Central or State University within Assam State are eligible to apply for assistance under this CM Jibon Anuprerana Asoni.
  • Beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme are not eligible to apply for financial assistance under this scheme.
  • Students pursuing their PhD from Open Universities or Private Institutions are also not eligible to apply for research assistance.
  • Assam Government has a dedicated platform named Digital Infrastructure for DBT Schemes (DIDS) Portal through which research scholars can apply online for the Chief Minister’s Jibon Anuprerana Scheme of the Government of Assam.
  • Contact the nodal officer of your university in case any help or assistance is required.

Benefits of Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme Assam

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

  • Research Scholars of Assam studying their PhD Program within the State from a Central or State University will receive the following benefits under the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme :-
    • One-time financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- to Research Scholars.
    • Disabled (Divyang) Research Scholars will get Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/-.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • One-time financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- and Rs. 40,000/- will be provided by the Assam Government to only those beneficiaries who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme :-
    • Applicant should be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
    • Beneficiary Applicant should be a Full-Time Research Scholar (PhD Program Students).
    • Both Male and Female Research Scholars doing Research from a State or Central Government University are Eligible.
    • Educational Institution should be situated in Assam.
    • PhD Program Students from Open Universities or Private Institutions are not eligible to apply.
    • Current or Former Beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme are not Eligible.

Documents Required to be Attached

  • The following documents will have to be uploaded on the DIDS Portal at the time of applying for one-time financial assistance under the Assam Government’s Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme :-
    • Identity Proof of the Research Scholar.
    • Aadhaar Card.
    • Admission Letter for PhD.
    • College/ University Details.
    • Enrollment Number.
    • Disability Certificate. (For Disabled Scholars)
    • Family Income Certificate.
    • Recent Color Passport Size Photograph.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

  • Research Scholars can apply for one-time financial assistance under the Assam Government’s Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme through the Online Application Form.
  • Online Application Form of Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme is available on the Digital Infrastructure for DBT Schemes (DIDS) Portal.
  • Visit the Portal and register yourself with your mobile number which will be further verified through OTP.

  • After verification, fill in the details in the registration form and click on register.
  • Login in to the Portal with your registered mobile number and password or through mobile OTP.

  • From the right side, search for the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme and select it to apply.
  • Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme Online Application Form will appear in which the applicant research scholar, will have to fill the following information step-wise:-
    • Personal Details.
    • Contact Details.
    • Educational Details.
    • PhD Program Details.
    • University Details.
  • Upload all the required documents on the DIDS Portal.
  • Check all the filled information and click on the submit button to submit the online application form of Assam Government’s CM Jibon Anuprerana Scheme.
  • Submit the application form and documents will first be verified by the respective universities from which the research scholar is pursuing their PhD Program.
  • Eligible Research Scholarship list found to be eligible for one-time financial assistance under the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme will be forwarded to the concerned department for disbursement.
  • Officials of the department will further verify the eligibility of research scholars on their end.
  • Finally, selected research scholars will then receive the financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/- ( Rs. 40,000/- for Divyang Research Scholars) directly in their bank account under the Government of Assam’s Chief Minister’s Jibon Anuprerana Scheme.
  • Research Scholars can also check their CM Jibon Anuprerana Scheme Application Status by logging in on the DIDS Portal.
