Introduction of Bihar CM Pratigya Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Central Government launched one of the major employment generation schemes named “PM Internship Scheme” on 03-10-2024.
• It is a short-term skill training program in which real-time work experience will be provided to selected interns.
• Following the footsteps of the Central Government, the Bihar Government also launched its own internship scheme for the students of the State.
• The name of the scheme is “CM PRATIGYA Scheme” alias “Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana”.
• CM PRATIGYA Scheme stands for “Chief Minister Promotion of Readiness, Awareness and Technical Insights for Guiding Youth Achievement”.
• Bihar Government’s main aim behind starting this scheme is to provide a platform for young students to gain practical work experience.
• Labour Resources Department is the implementing department of this scheme and this scheme will be implemented with the help of the Bihar Skill Development Mission.
• Short-term skill training in the form of an internship in prestigious institutions will be provided to selected eligible students under the CM Pratigya Scheme of Bihar.
• The time period of the internship, as per the qualification of selected students, will vary from 3 months to 12 months.
• Internship under the Chief Minister Pratigya Scheme is only for educated students and Class 12th, ITI/ Diploma, Graduation, Post Graduation or any Skill Training Program passed students are eligible to enroll themselves under this internship scheme of Bihar.
• Apart from the internship, selected interns will also receive a monthly stipend under the CM Pratigya Scheme as per their educational qualification.
• Bihar Government will provide the following financial assistance as a monthly stipend to all selected interns under the CM Pratigya Scheme :-
  • Rs. 4,000/- per month will be provided to Class 12th passed and skill training passed students.
  • Rs. 5,000/- per month will be provided to ITI or Diploma passed students.
  • Rs. 6,000/- per month will be provided to Graduation or a post-graduation passed students.
• If interns are selected for an internship outside their home district or the state, then additional financial assistance will be provided to them under the Bihar Government’s Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana.
• Rs. 40 crore will be allocated by the Bihar Government for the year 2025-2026 for the smooth implementation of the scheme.
• This year i.e. in 2025-2026, 5,000 students will going to be selected for internship under the Chief Minister Pratigya Scheme.
• Thereafter, the Government plans to provide internships to 1 lakh students in a period of 5 years from 2026-2027 to 20230-2031 with an estimated cost of 685 crore.
• Registration for Students/ Candidates under CM Pratigya Yojana of the Bihar Government will start soon as the Government has launched the Official Portal of the Scheme.
• Through the Chief Minister PRATIGYA Scheme Portal, eligible students of Bihar can register themselves for an internship.

Sectors in Which Internships Are Provided to Students

• The following are the eligible sectors in which the students of Bihar can complete their internship under the CM Pratigya Scheme :-
  • IT and ITES Industry.
  • Banking and Finance Industry.
  • Logistics Industry.
  • Automotive Sector.
  • Textile Industry.
  • And Many More.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Bihar Government under its CM Pratigya Scheme will provide the following benefits to all eligible students of the State :-
  

  The government will provide an Internship to selected Students. The duration of the internship may be between 3 months to 12 months. Internship will be provided in prestigious institutions. Selected Interns will also receive a monthly stipend, which are as follows :- Education Stipend Amount (Monthly) Class 12th Rs. 4,000/- ITI or Diploma Rs. 5,000/- Graduation Rs. 6,000/- Post Graduation Rs. 6,000/- An additional Allowance of Rs. 2,000/- per month will be provided for 3 months to those interns who are doing their internship outside their home district. An additional Sustainable Allowance of Rs. 5,000/- per month will be provided for the entire duration to those interns who are doing their internship outside the State. A certificate will also be provided after completion of the Internship.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Internship in prestigious institutions with a monthly stipend from Rs. 4,000/- to Rs. 6,000/- will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Bihar Government’s CM Pratigya Scheme :-
  

  Permanent Resident Students of Bihar are Eligible to Apply. Applicant Students’ Age should be 18 to 28 years. The minimum internship period under the CM Pratigya Scheme is 3 months which will be further extended to 12 months. Applicant Student should have passed any one of the following in their education :- Class 12th or Skill Training Program Passed ITI or Diploma Holder Graduation Post Graduation

Ineligibility Criteria of the Scheme

• Bihar Government also sets some ineligibility conditions for the students. Any student who fulfills any one of the following ineligibility conditions of the Bihar CM Pratigya Scheme is not eligible to apply for internship :-
  • Currently attending any Skill Training, Apprenticeship or Internship.
  • Any Student Training Program under the Central or State Government Scheme.
  • Candidates who are presently employed.

• The following documents will be required at the time of applying for an internship under the CM Pratigya Scheme of the Bihar Government :-
  • Any Residence Proof of Bihar.
  • Voter Identity Card.
  • Applicant Aadhaar Card.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Mobile Number and Email.
  • Documents Related to Education. (Class 12th, ITI/ Diploma, Graduation and Post Graduation)

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Bihar Government launched the Official Portal of CM Pratigya Scheme.
  
• The official URL of the CM Pratigya Scheme Portal is “https://cmpratigya.bihar.gov.in/”.
• Government of Bihar started the registration process for industries.
• Any interested industries/employers who wish to provide the platform to students for an internship can register on the portal.
• Beneficiary Students will have to wait a little bit more to register themselves under the Bihar Government’s CM Pratigya Yojana.
• Registration for Candidates in the Chief Minister Pratigya Scheme of the Bihar Government will start soon.

Eligibility for Establishment/ Industry/ Employer

• Any Establishment or Industry or Employer can enroll themselves under the Bihar Government’s CM Pratigya Scheme who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria :-
  

  The Establishment should be at least 3 Years Old. The Establishment should be mandatory registration in :- EPFO. ESIC. GST. Certification of Incorporation. Udyog Aadhaar. Any Establishment/ Industry/ Employer who is interested in deploying Interns up to a maximum of 10% of their total manpower registered. Any of the following types of Entities/ Employers are Eligible for Registration :- MSMEs of Bihar State that are registered and operational within the State. Bihar State Government Entities. PSUs within Bihar and Outside are Eligible to register in the CM Pratigya Scheme. Large-scale Industries of the Country with an Annual Financial Turnover of Rs. 250 Crore.

Registration Process for Establishment/ Industry/ Employer

• Any establishment or industry or employer that fulfills the above-mentioned eligibility criteria can register itself and participate under the Bihar Government’s CM Pratigya Scheme.
• The registration for the entity industries is open and can be done through the Bihar CM Pratigya Scheme Official Portal.
• Visit the Bihar Chief Minister Pratigya Scheme Official Portal and Click on Login/ Register.
  
• A new window will appear from which to choose Employer and fill the following details :-
  

  Organization Type :- Companies Registered Outside Bihar. Central/ State PSUs. Departments under the State Government of Bihar. Companies Registered in Bihar. Organization Name. Organization Registration Number. Email ID. Mobile Number. Password.

  

• After filling in all the details, click on Register.
• Login with the help of Email and Password.
  
• Fill in all the details about the organization and the number of employees.
• Select the most suitable candidate for you from the eligible students list and provide them with the internship opportunities.
