The Bihar Government, under its Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana, will select 121 fellows and post them in Government Departments to work with government officials for a period of 2 years. Selected Fellows will receive a stipend ranging from Rs. 80,000 per month to Rs. 1,50,000 per month, depending on their level of experience.

Introduction of Bihar Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Bihar Government had announced and launched lots of welfare schemes for the people of the State in the year 2025.
• The direct benefits transfer scheme was “Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana” in which Rs. 10,000/- will be provided for business to women and the recently announced one was “Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana”. (मुख्यमंत्री फेलोशिप योजना)
• Cabinet of the Bihar Government approved the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana for students on 09-09-2025.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide first-hand experience to students so that they can get a chance to work closely with the government and gain a real-time administrative experience.
• Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana in Bihar will be implemented by the General Administration Department of the Government in collaboration with IIM Bodh Gaya.
• Bihar Government will select 121 experienced fellows under the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Scheme and post them in the Government Department to help the Government Officials in their work.
• 121 fellows selected for fellowship under the Bihar Government’s CM Fellowship Yojana will also be provided a monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 80,000/- per month to Rs. 1,50,000/- per month according to their experience.
• The initial time period of the fellowship is 2 years.
• Apart from the fellowship, selected fellows will also receive training from IIM Bodh Gaya and after the successful completion of training, fellows will receive certification from IIM Bodh Gaya.
• Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana of the Bihar Government is only for Post-Graduation Passed Students who have experience from 3+ years to 10+ years.
• Bihar Government allocated more than Rs. 31 crore for the smooth implementation of the scheme.
• The government will only release this information about the Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme of Bihar.
• Beneficiary Students will have to wait a little bit more to apply for a fellowship under this scheme.
• We will update our page as soon as we get any information about the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana of the Bihar Government.
• Eligible Students can also apply for the Central Government Internship Scheme named “PM Internship Scheme” in which short-term internship with a monthly stipend will be provided to selected students.

Department-Wise Stipend to Selected Fellows

• The monthly stipend under Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana will be defined by the experience of the selected fellow and the department in which they are posted. The following is the list of departments and the fixed monthly stipend for fellows :-

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Bihar Government under its Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana will provide the following benefits to all eligible students :-
  • 121 Students will be selected for the Fellowship.
  • The period of fellowship is 2 years.
  • Selected Fellows will get a Posting in the Government Departments.
  • Selected Fellows will receive a Monthly Stipend from Rs. 80,000/- to Rs. 1,50,000/-.
  • Training from IIM Bodh Gaya.
  • Certification from IIM Bodh Gaya after completion of Fellowship.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• 2-year fellowship with ma onthly stipend from Rs. 80,000/- to Rs. 1,50,000/- under Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana of the Bihar Government will be provided to only those students who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the scheme :-
  • Applicant Students should be a Permanent Resident of Bihar.
  • Applicant should have passed their Post-Graduation.
  • Beneficiary Student should have Experience of more than 3 years to more than 10 years.

Minimum Educational Qualification Required for Fellowship

• Mukhyamantri Fellowship Scheme of the Bihar Government is only for Post-Graduation Passed Students. But it is required to be passed in Post Graduation in specific streams to be eligible for fellowship under this scheme which are mentioned below department-wise :-

  Municipal Corporation Commissioner’s Office	Post-Graduation from a Reputed Institution in Regional Planning or Related Fields.

Minimum Experience Required to be Eligible for Fellowship

• 2-year fellowship under the Government of Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana is not for freshers but only for experienced students. The government set the following experience to be eligible for the fellowship as per the department :-

• The following expected documents will have to be submitted by the students at the time of applying for a fellowship under the Bihar Government’s Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana :-
  • Residence Proof or Domicile of Bihar.
  • Student Aadhaar Card.
  • Educational Qualification Documents.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Email ID.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar, the Cabinet of the Bihar Government gave its approval to launch the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana in the State.
• The Official Guidelines of Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana is released by the General Administration Department of the Government of Bihar.
• At present, the application process of this scheme is not known yet.
• It totally depends on the General Administration Department to accept applications under the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana through the Online Application Form or through the Offline Application Form.
• If the mode of submission is online, then it is quite possible that the dedicated portal of Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana will be made for students.
• So, beneficiary students will have to wait a little bit more to avail the benefit of a fellowship in a government department under the Bihar Government’s Mukhyamantri Fellowship Yojana.
