Introduction of Delhi Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana: A Brief Insight
- Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana (दिल्ली मुख्यमंत्री मातृ वंदना योजना) was an election promise of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
- At the time of announcement during the election, the name of this scheme was “Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana”.
- But the Delhi Government planned to launch this scheme under a new name, “Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana”.
- It is a replica of the Central Government’s “Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana”, in which financial assistance of Rs. 5,000/- for first time pregnancy and Rs. 6,000/- for the birth of a second child of a girl will be provided.
- But, Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana offers additional benefits that support pregnant women during their pregnancy and their newborns more after the birth.
- This scheme will be implemented by the Department of Women and Child Development of the Delhi Government.
- Delhi Government will provide the financial assistance of Rs. 21,000/- to all eligible pregnant women beneficiaries.
- This financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana will be provided in instalments and in a phased manner.
- Apart from the monetary assistance of Rs. 21,000/- to pregnant women, 6 Nutritional Kits (Poshan Kits) will also be provided to improve the nutritional status of the women beneficiaries and their newborn child.
- The distribution of nutritional kits under the Delhi Government’s Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana will be done through the Anganwadi Centre.
- And it is also expected that the registration and application process of Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana (MMMVY) can also be done in Anganwadi Centre with the help of Anganwadi Workers.
- According to the sources, the Delhi Government aims to provide financial assistance of Rs. 21,000/- and 6 nutritional kits to around 1 lakh women beneficiaries.
- Rs. 210/- crore is already allocated by the Government of Delhi for the year 2025-2026 for the smooth implementation of Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana. (MMMVY)
- This scheme will be implemented very soon in the whole of Delhi.
- As soon as the Delhi Government’s Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana is launched, we will update the same.
- Women Beneficiaries of Delhi can also apply for the monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/- under “Mahila Samriddhi Yojana” which is going to be implemented very soon.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Delhi Government will provide the following benefits to all pregnant women and newborn children under its Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana (MMMVY) :-
- One-Time Financial Assistance to All Eligible Pregnant Women.
- Rs. 21,000/- in instalments will be provided in a phased manner.
- 6 Poshan Kits will also be provided for Women and their newborns.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Financial Assistance of Rs. 21,000/- with 6 nutrition kits will be provided by the Delhi Government who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana :-
- Permanent Resident Women of Delhi are Eligible to Apply.
- Applicant Women should be Pregnant or Lactating mothers.
- Women applicants should belong to the Low Income Family Group.
- The Age of Pregnant Women beneficiaries should be 18 years or more.
- Remaining Eligibility Criteria will be released soon.

- Women Applicants will have to submit the following documents with the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana at the time of applying for the benefits :-
- Residence Proof of Delhi.
- Mobile Number.
- Women Applicant Aadhaar Card.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- MAMTA Card.
- ANC Checkup Details.
- Recent Colour Passport Size Photo.
- Family Income Certificate.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana was the election promise of the BJP-led Delhi Government.
- Delhi Government has already allocated the budget for this scheme, so we can assume this scheme will going to be start soon.
- The expected application process of Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Yojana of the Delhi Government is through Anganwadi Centre, same as like PM Matru Vandana Yojana.
- Pregnant Women will have to visit their area’s Anganwadi Centre after their first ANC check-up, will all the documents and meet the Anganwadi Worker.
- Anganwadi Worker will register the pregnant women underthe Delhi Government’s Mukhya Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and feed all the details online.
- Women and Child Development Department of the Delhi Government will finalise the list of eligible pregnant women and enlist them under the Mukhyamantri Matru Vandana Scheme.
- Women Beneficiaries selected under this scheme will receive the financial assistance of Rs. 21,000/- in a phased manner during their pregnancy period and further 6 nutrition kits will also be provided.
- Beneficiaries will have to wait till the official launch of the CM Matru Vandana Yojana of the Delhi Government.
