Introduction of Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme: A Brief Insight

• At Old Age, people will got depend on their family for many things.
• They can’t even manage their personal financial expenses.
• To help those old age people financially, Government of Delhi take major step by launching a monthly pension scheme.
• This scheme will be known as Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme.
• The main objective behind launching Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme is to make old age people financially independent.
• This will make old age people to not to rely on their family members for financial assistance.
• Delhi Government’s Department of Social Welfare is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Monthly Pension will be provided to eligible beneficiaries under Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme
• Rs. 2,500/- (Two Thousand Rupees Only) per month will be provided to those old age people whose age is in between 60 Years to 69 Years.
• Rs. 3,000/- (Twenty Five Hundred Rupees Only) per month will be provided to old age people who are of 70 Years or More than 70 Years in age.
• Additional of Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred Rupees Only) per month will be provided to those applicant who belongs to any of the following category :-
  • Schedule Caste.
  • Schedule Tribe.
  • Minority. (Muslim, Sikhs, Buddhist, Jains, Parsis, Christians)
• Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme is a Direct to Benefit Transfer Scheme and the monthly pension will be directly transferred in the bank account of applicant.
• Only 60 Years or Above age people are eligible to apply.
• Applicant should be a permanent resident of Delhi or should be a resident of Delhi for minimum 5 Years.
• Those Applicant’s are eligible to apply whose annual family income from all sources should not be more than Rs. 1,00,000/- (One Lakh Rupees Only).
• A Separate scheme is also functional for women named “Pension Scheme to Women in Distress”.
• Eligible Applicant can apply for monthly pension by filling Online Application Form of Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme on Delhi Government’s E District Portal.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• The following Monthly Pension will be provided to Eligible Old Age People of Delhi under Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  

  Monthly Pension	Applicant Category
  Rs. 2,500/-	Applicant Aged Between 60 Years to 69 Years.
  Rs. 3,000/-	Applicant Aged 70 Years or Above.
  Rs. 500/- per month will be additionally given to the Schedule Caste, Schedule Category and Minority Applicants.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The following eligibility conditions is set by Delhi Government in order to provide the benefit of monthly financial assistance in form of pension under Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  

  Permanent Residents of Delhi are Eligible to Apply OR, Applicant must be a Resident of Delhi for 5 Years. Applicant Age should be 60 Years or more than 60 Years. The Annual Family Income of Applicant should be below Rs. 1,00,000/-. Applicant should not be a recipient of pension or any other financial assistance from State or Central Government.

• The below mentioned documents will be mandatorily required to avail the benefit of monthly financial assistance under Delhi Government’s Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  

  Residence Proof of Delhi. Aadhar Card of Applicant. Applicant’s Age Proof. Income Certificate of Applicant. Bank Account Details. Applicant Photograph. Applicant Caste Certificate. (If Applicable) BPL Card. (If Applicable) Applicant’s Mobile Number or Email ID.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• The only way to apply for Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme is through E District Portal of Delhi Government.
• Applicant has to Register himself first before applying for Old Age Pension.
• Registration will be done by entering Aadhar Card.
• Basic Details will be filled in the registration form like Name, Address, Mobile Number, Email.
• Then after submission of Registration Form, User Name and Password will be sent by the portal on Applicant’s given mobile number and email.
• Login in the portal by received User Name and Password.
• Choose Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme from the Apply for Services Tab.
