Introduction of Goa Mamta Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Goa Government started lots of women and child-oriented scheme in the State.
- Some of them are are “Ladli Laxmi Scheme” and “Griha Aadhaar Scheme” in which Goa Government provides monetary assistance to support them financially.
- Another major welfare scheme which was started for the welfare of mother and child are “Mamta Scheme”.
- The official name of this scheme is “Financial Incentive to Mothers Who Deliver a Girl Child “MAMTA”.
- This scheme was launched by Goa Government in 01-04-2011.
- The main aim of this scheme is to decrease the infant mortality rate of girl child in the State by supporting them financially.
- Goa Government’s Directorate of Women & Child Development is the implementing agency of this scheme.
- Financial Support under Mamta Scheme will be provided to those beneficiaries who gave birth to a girl child.
- Government of Goa will provide one time financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- to all eligible mothers under its Mamta Scheme who gave birth to a baby girl.
- Beneficiary Women can avail the benefit of this scheme for a maximum of 2 times this means financial assistance to women will also provided if second child of a women is also girl.
- But it is mandatory for a beneficiary women to deliver her girl child in any registered medical institution.
- If the delivery of a girl child is at home then they are not eligible to avail the benefit of Mamta Scheme of Goa Government.
- Beneficiary Mother will have to apply for Mamta Scheme within 45 days of the delivery of a girl child.
- The other common name of this scheme “Goa Mamta Yojana” or “Goa Financial Assistance Scheme for Girl Mothers”.
- Mamta Scheme is a direct-to-bank transfer scheme in which financial assistance will directly transfer in the bank account women beneficiary.
- Certified/ Self Attested Copy of Birth Report or Certificate from Registered Medical Institution is mandatorily required at the time of applying for financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- under Goa Government’s Mamta Scheme.
- Goa Government has provided both online and offline application facility for this scheme.
- Online Application Form of Mamta Scheme is available on Government of Goa’s Citizen Services Website.
- Whereas, Offline Application Form of Mamta Scheme can be collected from any of the below mentioned offices :-
- Anganwadi Centers.
- Office of Child Development Project Officer.
- Beneficiary Mother can also contact Anganwadi Worker or CDPO in case any help or assistance required regarding Mamta Scheme.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Those mothers who deliver thier girl child in any registered medical institution will the following benefits from Goa Government under its Mamta Scheme which is also known as “Financial Incentive to Mothers who deliver a Girl Child :-
- One Time Financial Assistance will be Provided at the time of Girl Child Birth.
- All Eligible Mother will get Rs. 10,000/- under Mamta Scheme.
- This Assistance will be provided for the birth of maximum 2 Girl Child.
- Monetary Assistance will be directly provided in the bank account of beneficiary.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- One Time Financial Assistance of Rs. 10,000/- under Mamta Scheme of Goa Government will only provided to those eligible women beneficiaries who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria of scheme :-
- Women Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Goa or Residing in Goa for minimum 3 Years.
- Women who are married to a Resident of Goa are also Eligible to Apply.
- The Birth of Women Beneficiary’s Girl Child should be in Registered Medical Institution.
- Mamta Scheme Benefits will be applicable for maximum two girl child birth.
Documents Required to be Attached
- Beneficiary Women will have to submit the following documents with the Application Form of Mamta Scheme to get one time financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- for girl child birth :-
- Residence Proof or Domicile Certificate of Goa.
- Aadhaar Card of Beneficiary Women.
- Birth Report of Child or Certificate from Medical Institution.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- Passport Size Photograph.
- Mobile Number and Email.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Beneficiary Mother’s who delivered their girl child in registered medical institution can apply for one financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- under Goa Government’s Mamta Scheme through :-
Through Online Application Form
- Online Application Form of Mamta Scheme of Goa Government is available on Online Citizen Services Website.
- Visit the Online Citizen Services Website and Click on Proceed to Apply.
- Register Yourself with the help of Email and Mobile Number.
- Email ID and Mobile Number will be verified by portal through OTP authentication.
- Fill the details in the Registration Form which will appear after OTP verification.
- with the help of Use Email ID and Password and Login again.
- From services menu, first select all services then select Directorate of Women & Child Development and then select Mamta Scheme.
- Fill Mamta Scheme Online Application Form without doing any mistake.
- Upload all the documents on the portal in pdf format.
- Preview form once and then click on submit button to submit it.
- Online Services Website will then generate the acknowledgement number of Mamta Scheme.
- Print the Acknowledgement Reciept for future use.
- Application Status of Mamta Scheme can be checked with the help of acknowledgement number as shown below.
- Officials of Directorate of Women & Child Development will verify the received application form and documents.
- List of women will be made then after selection who found eligible.
- After final approval from Directorate, Beneficiary Mother’s who delivered their girl child in the registered medical institution will get one time financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- as promised by Goa Government under Mamta Scheme.
- It is to be hereby noted that it is mandatory to apply for Mamta Scheme from within 45 days of the delivery of Girl Child.
- In case of any help or assistance is required, women beneficiary can contact the Child Development Project Officer or ASHA Worker or Anganwadi Sewika.
Through Offline Application Form
- Beneficiary Mothers can also apply for financial assistance under Mamta Scheme through Offline Application Form.
- Mamta Scheme Offline Application Form is available free of cost at Anganwadi Centres or Child Development Project Officer Office.
- Visit any of the above mentioned office and take application form.
- Fill the Application Form of Mamta Scheme correctly and attach all the required documents with the application form.
- Now submit the application form in anganwadi center or directly in the office of Child Development Project Officer.
- Anganwadi Worker will preliminary check the received application form and documents and provide the acknowledgment receipt to beneficiary.
- Selected and Eligibile Mother Beneficiary List will then further forward to CDPO office for further approval.
- Child Development Project Officer Office will further scrutinize the application form and documents and further send the selected list to Directorate of Women & Child Development.
- After final approval from the Directorate, Beneficiary Mother will receive the amount of Rs. 10,000/- in their bank account under Mamta Scheme of Government of Goa.
- Mamta Scheme Application Status can be checked online on Online Citizen Services Website.
