Introduction of Namo E Tablet Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Government of Gujarat started lots of educational welfare scheme for the benefit of students.
- In the year 2024, Gujarat Government launched Namo Lakshmi Scheme for Girls Students and Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Scheme for Students studying Science as a subject.
- Both the scheme launched with an objective to stop drop out rates among students and encourage students to complete their basic education.
- Now to encourage students to complete their higher education also, Government of Gujarat started new scheme named “Namo E Tablet Scheme”.
- The main aim of Government behind starting this scheme is to support students technically in their higher education by diminishing digital gap and provide high quality education through technical advancement.
- Education Department of Gujarat Government is the responsible department of this scheme.
- Whereas, Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat is implementing this scheme across Gujarat.
- This scheme is also known by some other names such as “Namo E Tablet Yojana” or “Namo Free Tablet Scheme” or “નમો ઇ ટેબ્લેટ યોજના”.
- Government of Gujarat through Knowledge Consortium and with the help of Universities and Colleges provide E Tablet to meritorious students for their higher education under Namo E Tablet Scheme.
- But this E Tablets will not provided to students completely free of cost.
- Beneficiary Students will have to submit a token money of Rs. 1,000/- in their college in order to get Tablet under Namo E Tablet Scheme.
- Class 12th Passed meritorious students and who are currently studying in first year of college are eligible to get E Tablet at just Rs. 1,000/-.
- Students studying in Polytechnic are also eligible to get Tablet under this scheme.
- Pre Loaded Educational Content will be provided in each distributed tablet for students.
- Educational Material which are pre loaded in Tablets are mentioned below :-
- Pre Recorded Video Lectures.
- E Textbooks.
- E Books.
- More Educational Material for Learning.
- If any students family income is more than Rs. 1,00,000/- per year then he/ she are not eligible to get tablet under Namo E Tablet Scheme.
- According to government sources, the original price of distributed tablets is around Rs. 8,000/- to Rs. 9,000/-.
- The brand of tablet which are provided under Namo E Tablet Scheme are from Lenovo or Acer company.
- Applications for Namo E Tablet Scheme will be filled by concerned college of student.
- And in case of any help or assistance required regarding this scheme, beneficiary student can contact their college or Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Gujarat Government will provide the following benefits to all eligible students who are currently studying in 1st Year of College under Namo E Tablet Scheme :-
- Students will get E Tablet for their Higher Education.
- A Token Amount of Rs. 1,000/- will have to Submitted by Students in their College.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- E Tablet at just Rs. 1,000/- token money will be provided to those students who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Namo E Tablet Scheme :-
- Beneficiary Student should be Class 12th Passed and Currently Studying in 1st Year of College.
- Beneficiary Student should have Passed Class 12th from a Recognized Board and Institution.
- Only Permanent Resident Student of Gujarat are Eligible.
- Students Family Income should not be more than Rs. 1,00,000/- per Year.
- Students studying in Polytechnic Courses are also Eligible to get Tablet.

- The following documents will have to be submitted at concerned college in order to avail the benefit of E Tablet under Namo E Tablet Scheme of Government of Gujarat :-
- Residence Proof of Gujarat or Domicile Certificate.
- Students Aadhaar Card.
- Marksheet of Class 12th Examination.
- Certificate of Class 12th Examination.
- Self Declaration or Income Certificate.
- Identity Card of Student.
- Proof of Admission in College.
- Certificate of Caste. (If Applicable)

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Government of Gujarat has not provided self applying facility to students to get Tablet under Namo E Tablet Scheme.
- Beneficiary Student will have to contact at their College/ Institute in order to get Tablet at just Rs. 1,000/- under this scheme.
- Concerned College and Institute will collect the token amount of Rs. 1,000/- from students and provides a receipt to them.
- Then College will have to login on Digital Gujarat Portal through Institutional Login with the help of College ID and Password.
- College will have to Register all students under Namo E Tablet Scheme who are eligible to get Tablet by filling the Application Form.
- College will fill all the personal, contact and educational details of students in the Application Form of Namo E Tablet Scheme.
- Token Amount will have to be submitted in the University Account.
- Concerned University then collect the list of all eligible students and their token money of Rs. 1,000/- from Colleges and verified it with their records as available in University Login on Digital Gujarat Portal.
- Collected Token amount will have to submitted to Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat by the University.
- Knowledge Consotium of Gujarat then collect the token amount and list of students and verifies it with their records as available in Digital Gujarat Website.
- After all the verification processes are completed, the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat will allocate the Tablet to the University.
- Concerned University will then Collect the Tablets from Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat and further allocate it to Colleges and Institutes.
- After Collecting Tablets under Namo E Tablet Scheme of Gujarat Government, Colleges and Institutes will distribute the Tablets between all registered students.
- Students can checked their Application Status of Namo E Tablet Scheme by contacting their College or Institute.
