Introduction of Haryana Drone Didi Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Haryana Government launched the Drone Didi Scheme in the state in the year 2024.
- This scheme is similar to the Central Government’s Namo Drone Didi Scheme, which is operational in the whole country.
- The main objective of the Haryana Government behind starting this scheme is to increase the yearly income of women members of Self Help Groups of the State.
- Drone Didi Scheme is also opening up the opportunity of self-employment for women members of SHGs and making them Drone Entrepreneurs.
- This scheme is implemented by the Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department and the Directorate of Skill Development & Industrial Training of the Haryana Government.
- Free of Cost Drone fly training will be provided to selected women members of Self Help Groups.
- Drone Imaging and Information Services of Haryana (DRIISHYA) is the drone training partner and will provide training to selected women beneficiaries in Karnal under the Drone Didi Scheme of the Government of Haryana.

- The government also provides the interest-free bank loan facility of Rs. 5,00,000/- for 1 year for the remaining cost of the commercial drone.
- Interest on the Bank Loan for 1 year will be paid by the Government.
- Women Beneficiaries can rent this commercial drone for agricultural work and can earn up to Rs. 1,00,000/- per year additionally.

- Each Women Member of the Self Help Group will get the following benefits from the Haryana Government under the Drone Didi Scheme :-
- Free of Cost Drone Fly Training will be provided.
- Drone – Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) will also be provided to Women Beneficiaries.
- Subsidy on the Purchase of Commercial drones and their accessories is also available.
- Subsidy of 80% of the Drone Cost or a maximum of Rs. 8 lakh is applicable.
- Bank Loan Facility up to Rs. 5 lakh for 1 year is also available for the remaining cost of the Drone.
- Bank Interest on the Loan will be paid by the Government of Haryana.
- Women Beneficiaries can rent the Drone for agricultural purposes and earn additional income of up to Rs. 1 lakh.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Drone Training & Subsidy on the purchase of a Drone under the Drone Didi Scheme of the Haryana Government will only be provided to those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of scheme :-
- Registered Women Self-Help Groups and their Members are Eligible to Apply.
- Women Members should be Permanent residents of Haryana.
- Age of Women Members should be between 18 years to 40 years.
- Passing Class 10th is mandatorily required.
- Women members should have a Parivar Pehchan Patra ID.
- Women members should be physically and Medically Fit.
