Introduction of E Taxi Self Driving Yojana: A Brief Insight

In the financial year 2023-2024 while presenting the yearly budget, the Himachal Pradesh Government promises to the youth of State to start a welfare scheme for their employment.
So in the same year 2023, Government launched “Rajiv Gandhi Self Employment Scheme”.
The main aim of Himachal Pradesh Government behind starting Rajiv Gandhi Self Employment Scheme is to create employment opportunities for the youth of State to make them financially independent and stable.
Rajiv Gandhi Self Employment Scheme is a parent scheme in which there are sub schemes.
The most prominent sub-scheme is “E Taxi Self Driving Yojana”.
This scheme is started with an objective to provide guaranteed employment to unemployed youth of State by supporting them financially to start their own business activity.
Transport Department of Himachal Pradesh Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
The other major synonym name of this scheme are “E Taxi Self Driving Scheme” or “ई टैक्सी सेल्फ ड्राइविंग योजना” or “E Taxi Scheme of Himachal Pradesh”.
Government of Himachal Pradesh will now provide subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi to those unemployed youths who are willing to do a self-driving job on their own vehicle.
If any unemployed youth of Himchal Pradesh will purchase the E Taxi then HP Government will provided Subsidy of 50% on the cost of Vehicle under its E Taxi Self Driving Yojana.
Apart from that, Government will also engage the purchased E Taxi’s on their Department for Official Use.
HP Government will hire the E Taxi’s for a initial period of 4 years after which this time period can be further extended to 2 years.
During engagement, Beneficiary Owner of E Taxi will received monthly remuneration from concerned Department.
There is also a facility to obtain loan for remaining 50% cost of E Taxi Vehicle.
Taxi’s purchase under E Taxi Self Driving Yojana of Himachal Pradesh Government cannot be used for commercial purpose and deployment of drivers is also strictly prohibited.
Beneficiary Youth will have to drive E Taxi by himself for his self employment.
If beneficiary youth is education and passed class 10th then the required driving experience is 7 years.
Whereas if the applicant is illiterate or didn’t passed classed 10th examination then the required driving experience is 10 years.
Having updated and valid driving driving license is mandatorily required in order to avail the benefit of 50% subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi under HP Government’s E Taxi Self Driving Yojana.
Application Fees applicable for this scheme is Rs. 20/-.
HP Government provides the facility to apply for subsidy under E Taxi Self Driving Yojana through Online Application Form.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

Himachal Pradesh Government will provide the below mentioned benefits to Himachal Pradesh Educated Unemployed Youth under its E Taxi Self Driving Yojana :-
- Government will Provide Subsidy on E Taxi Purchase.
- 50% Subsidy on E Taxi Cost will be Provided.
- This means 50% Cost of E Taxi will be Paid by Government of Himachal Pradesh.
- Facility of Loan on remaining 50% cost of E Taxi Vehicle is also available.
- Purchased E Taxi’s will be Hired by Himachal Government for its Departments.
- Department Hired E Taxi’s for initial period of 4 Years then it will further extended for 2 more years.

Beneficiary youth can purchase any of the below mentioned E Taxi and avail the benefit of 50% subsidy on its purchase under HP Government’s E Taxi Self Driving Yojana :-

Luxury Vehicle	Mini Cooper SE EV. Range 450 KM.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

50% Subsidy on the Purchase of E Taxi will only provided to those beneficiary youth of Himachal Pradesh who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility conditions of E Taxi Self Driving Yojana :-
- Only Permanent Resident Youth of Himachal Pradesh are Eligible to Apply.
- Beneficiary Youth’s Age must be 23 Years or More.
- Experience of Driving a Vehicle should be 7 Years. (If Class 10th Passed)
- Experience of Driving a Vehicle should be 10 Years. (If Not Passed Class 10th)
- It is mandatory to submit Unemployment Certificate issued by Competent Authority.
- Subsidy on the Purchase of Vehicle will be provided to One Person in a Family.

Documents Required to be Attached

Beneficiary will have to upload the below mentioned documents on the official portal at the time of applying for subsidyon the purchase of E Taxi under E Taxi Self Driving Yojana of Government of Himachal Pradesh :-
- Himachal Pradesh Resident Proof or Domicile Certificate.
- Certificate of Unemployment.
- Valid Driving License.
- Class 10th Certificate/ Marksheet. (If Passed Class 10th)
- Beneficiary Aadhar Card.
- PAN Card of Beneficiary.
- Certificate of Caste. (If Applicable)
- Mobile Number and Email ID.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Yojana

Beneficiary Youth can apply for 50% Subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi through by filling E Taxi Self Driving Yojana Online Application Form.
Online Application Form is available on the Official Website of E Taxi Self Driving Yojana.
Open the Website and Click on Application Register.
Registration is mandatory before filling the Online Application Form.
Fill Personal Details and Contact/ Address Details.
Then fill Educational Qualification, PAN Number, Aadhaar Number, Category, Driving License Number and Issuing Date.
Upload the asked documents.
Then choose password and click on Send OTP.
Mobile Number and Email of Beneficiary Youth will be verified through OTP authentication.
Then Login with the help of Email ID and choose Password.
E Taxi Self Driving Yojana Online Application Form will appear then.
Fill the remaining details in the Application Form.
Pay the Application Fees of Rs. 20/-.
Preview the Application Form and Click on Submit Button to Submit it.
Submitted Application Form will be verified by Himachal Pradesh Government’s Department of Transport.
Beneficiary List will be made and a notification about their selection will also sent them through SMS on their registered mobile number.
List of Beneficiaries selected for Subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi under E Taxi Self Driving Yojana will then sent to Vehicle Dealers for further documentation.
Finally Selected Beneficiary List will then forwarded to Banks for the approval of loan for remaining 50% cost of purchased vehicle.
As soon as beneficiary youth gets E Taxi under E Taxi Self Driving Yojana, the departments will engage it for their official use.
Concerned Department will paid montly rent to owners of E Taxi from which they will pay the EMIs of Bank Loan.
Beneficiary Youth can check their E Taxi Self Driving Yojana Application Status by Logging In in the Official Website.
