Introduction of the Indira Fellowship Program: A Brief Insight

• Indian National Congress started Indira Fellowship Program of Women of India.
• It is going to be the major social reform program for Indian Women.
• The tag line of this Fellowship Program is “Empowering Women, Transforming Politics”.
• So the main objective behind starting this Fellowship Program is to engage more and more women in politics and take their rightful space.
• Once the most powerful Prime Minister of India Late Smt. Indira Gandhi said that “Women’s political participation is not an option, it is an essential component of building a vibrant and progressive nation”.
• So, Indian National Congress takes very bold steps toward participation of women in politics through starting Indira Fellowship Program.
• Any Indian Women, who is a Activist, Professional, A Change Maker or who has interest in Politics can apply for fellowship under this Fellowship Program.
• Indira Fellowship Program is a 9 Month full stipend program.
• Means the duration of fellowship will be 9 months and a monthly stipend will also provided to selected fellows during the time of training.
• This Fellowship Program will start from September 2023.
• Fellows will be selected on the basis of Interview. (May be Telephonic/ Video or In Person).
• The Roles and Responsibilities of Fellows Selected under this Fellowship Program are :-
  • To Organize Indira Activity Center.
  • To Spread Awareness about Programs.
• After fellowship period, some fellows will get an opportinity to work closely with INC Leaders, NGOs, Women Influencers and Elected Women Representative.
• Certificate of Completion will also provided to fellows after completion of the fellowship.
• Eligible and Interested Women can apply for fellowship till 31^st of August 2023.
• The last date toa apply for this Fellowship Program is 31-08-2023.
