Madilu Kit Scheme was started in the year 2017 by Government of Karnataka. The main objective to start this scheme is to provide medicinal support to new mother by providing them a kit of daily used day care items for her and her child. Read the full article to know more.

Introduction of Madilu Kit Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Karnataka Government started lot of welfare scheme for pregnant women like :- Thayi Bhagya Scheme and Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme.
• Another major welfare scheme for pregnant women is Madilu Kit Scheme.
• It was started by the Government of Karnataka on October 1^st 2007.
• The main aim behind launching Madilu Kit Scheme is to promote institutional deliveries by providing daily items to Mother and her New Born Child.
• Government of Karnataka will provided daily care items to women beneficiary under Madilu Kit Scheme.
• Madilu Kit contains 19 items which can be used by the beneficiary after delivery for her and her child.
• Madilu Kit cost is around Rs. 1,500/-.
• Madilu Kit will be provided to only those women who deliver her child in Government Hospital.
• Government Hospital should also cover the below mentioned health care institutes :-
  • Public Health Care Institution.
  • Community Health Care Institution.
  • Hospitals in Talukas.
  • District Government Hospitals.
  • Medical College Hospitals.
• Women beneficiary who did not deliver her child in government hospital should get monetary assistance in place of Madilu Kit.
• Monetary Assistance of Rs. 1,000/- will be given to those women beneficiary who deliver her child in private hospital instead of government hospital.
• Benefits of Madilu Kit will be provided to women beneficiary only for 2 deliveries.
• There is no need to apply anywhere separately for Madilu Kit Scheme.
• Every women who deliver her child in government institution will get the Madilu Kit under Madilu Kit Scheme.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• The following benefits will be provided to Women Beneficiary under Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme :-
  

  Madilu Kit will be provided to Women Beneficiary. Every Madilu Kit contains 19 Items of Daily Use. Cost of Each Madilu Kit is around Rs. 1,500/-. Financial Assistance of Rs. 1,000/- will also provided to those Women Beneficiary who deliver her child in Private Hospital.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Following eligibility criteria is required to get the benefit of Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme :-
  

  Women Beneficiary Should be a Permanent Resident of Karnataka. Child of a Women Beneficiary Should be born in Government Hospital. Women Beneficiary Should Belong to BPL Category. Women Beneficiary Should Belong to any of the following caste :- Schedule Caste. Schedule Tribe.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The below mentioned documents is required to avail the benefit of Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme :-
  

  Domicile of Karnataka or Any Residence Proof. Any of the following mentioned card :- Ration Card. BPL Card. Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe Certificate. Pregnant Women Aadhar Card. ANC Number. Mobile Number.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• There is no need to apply separately for Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme.
• To avail the benefit of Madilu Kit Scheme, Pregnant Women will have to deliver her child in any government hospital.
• ASHA Worker will help the pregnant women to get her enroll under this scheme
• As soon as the child take birth, Madilu Kit will be provided to women beneficiary at the hospital.
