Introduction of Madhya Pradesh Gaon Ki Beti Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Madhya Pradesh launched Gaon Ki Beti Yojana (मध्य प्रदेश गाँव की बेटी योजना) on 1st of July 2005.
• The main objective behind starting this educational welfare scheme is to encourage the meritorious girl students of rural areas of Madhya Pradesh to pursue and complete their higher education by providing financial assistance in the form of a scholarship.
• Higher Education Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
• As the name suggests, the Gaon Ki Beti Yojana was specifically started for those girls who are living and completed their class 12th with 60% or more marks from schools situated in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh State.
• Yearly scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- per year distributed as Rs. 500/- per month for 10 months will be provided to girl students who have completed their Class 12th and taken admission in a graduation course.
• However, if any girl student has taken admission in an Engineering or Medical Course after completing class 12th, then the amount of assistance under Gaon Ki Beti Yojana is Rs. 7,500/- per year disbursed as Rs. 750/- per month.
• Gaon Ki Beti Scheme is a DBT Scheme in which the amount of scholarship will be directly transferred into the bank account of a girl student.
• Girl Students belong to the General, SC, ST and OBC categories are eligible to apply for a monthly scholarship under this scheme.
• This scholarship scheme is only for girl students from BPL Families residing in rural area; urban area resident girls can apply under Pratibha Kiran Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh Government.
• Beneficiary Girl Student can apply online for Gaon Ki Beti Yojana.
• The online application form of the scheme is available on the State Scholarship Portal 2.0.
• Contact the Nodal Officer of the College in case any help is required regarding the Gaon Ki Beti Scholarship Scheme.
• Further, the Madhya Pradesh Government is also providing assistance of Rs. 25,000/- to purchase laptops under “Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana” to those meritorious students who have passed class 12th with 75% or more marks.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Rural Area Girl Students who have passed their class 12th with 60% or more marks will receive the following benefits from the Madhya Pradesh Government under the Gaon Ki Beti Yojana :-
  • A monthly scholarship to Eligible Girl Students will be provided.
  • Rs. 500/- per month for 10 months will be provided to those girl students who have taken admission in the Normal Graduation Course.
  • Rs. 750/- per month for 10 months will be provided to those girl students who have taken admission in the Engineering or Medical Course.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Per Month Scholarship of Rs. 500/- per month and Rs. 750/- per month will be provided to only those students who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Gaon Ki Beti Yojana of the Government of Madhya Pradesh :-
  • A permanent resident girl student of Madhya Pradesh is Eligible to apply.
  • The Beneficiary Girl Student should currently be residing in a rural area.
  • The beneficiary girl student should have completed her Class 12th with 60% or more marks from a school situated in a rural area.
  • Applicant Girl Student should have taken admission in any Graduation Course from any Higher Educational Institute.
  • A girl student should belong to the Below Poverty Line Category. (BPL)
  • All category applicants, i.e. General, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backwards Class is Eligible.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The documents that are required at the time of applying for the monthly scholarship under the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Gaon Ki Beti Yojana are mentioned below :-
  • Current Colour Photo.
  • College Code and Branch Code.
  • Class 12th Marksheet.
  • Class 12th Certificate.
  • Email ID.
  • Mobile Number.
  • BPL Ration Card or Certificate.
  • Aadhaar Card of a Girl Student.
  • SAMAGRA ID.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Certificate of Caste.
  • Resident Proof of Madhya Pradesh.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Girl Students who have passed their class 12th with 60% or more marks can apply for a monthly scholarship through the Online Application Form of Gao Ki Beti Yojana.
• Gao Ki Beti Yojana Online Application Form is available on the Madhya Pradesh Government’s State Scholarship Portal 2.0.
• Visit the portal, scroll down a little bit on Online Schemes on the Portal section and click on Registration for Gao Ki Beti Yojana.
• Click on New Application and enter the SAMAGRA ID.
• Scholarship Portal will verify the SAMAGRA ID through OTP authentication.
• After successful verification, the portal will generate the Applicant ID.
• Login on the portal with the received Applicant ID and your Date of Birth.
• You can find Gaon Ki Beti Yojana on the screen, and click on Apply Online.
• Fill in the details in the Online Application Form of Gaon Ki Beti Scheme.
• Upload all the required documents on the portal.
• Preview the filled application form and lock the details.
• Click on the submit button to finally submit the Gaon ki Beti Yojna Application Form online.
• Thereafter, take a printout of the filled and submitted application form, attach the required documents with it and submit it in your college/ university.
• The Nodal Officer of the Educational Institute will receive the application form and documents, verify it with the online submitted details and forward it to the Higher Education Department for further verification and approval.
• The scholarship amount as promised by the Madhya Pradesh Government under the Gaon Ki Beti Scholarship Scheme will then be transferred directly into the bank account of the beneficiary girl student.
• The Application Status of Gaon Ki Beti Yojana can also be seen on the State Scholarship Portal.
