Meghalaya Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme

Meghalaya Government, under its Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme, will provide a yearly scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per year to students from Class 11th to Ph.D. courses. Applicant Students can apply for the CM Scholarship Scheme online through Meghalaya One Portal from 01-09-2025 and the last date to apply is extended to 31-10-2025.

Introduction of Meghalaya Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2025: A Brief Insight

• Meghalaya Government announced to launch the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme at the time of presenting the budget for the year 2025-2026.
• Keeping the promise, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma launched the CM Scholarship Scheme in the State on 25-08-2025.
• The main objective behind starting this scholarship scheme in Meghalaya is to provide quality education to students and encourage them to pursue higher education.
• Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme will going to be implemented by the Education Department of the Meghalaya Government.
• The government will provide the annual scholarship as financial assistance to all eligible students under the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme so that they can easily manage their expenses incurred on education.
• Each Student from Class 11th to Ph.D courses is eligible to receive a scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per year under the CM Scholarship Scheme of the Meghalaya Government.
• There is no minimum or maximum annual income limit needed to avail the benefit of this scheme.
• A student must have an active and valid Bank Account, Mobile Number and Email.
• The government estimates that around 80,000 students will receive the benefits of a yearly scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- under the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme of the Government of Meghalaya.
• All the application process and fund disbursement process are online to ensure timely and transparent delivery of the scholarship amount under this scheme.
• Meghalaya Government’s Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme Online Application Form is available on Meghalaya One Portal.
• The application will be live from the 1st of September 2025 and beneficiary applicant students can apply for Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme of Meghalaya Government till 31-10-2025.
• Register yourself, apply for the CM Scholarship Scheme and avail the benefit of a scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per year.
• Contact your District Education Officer in case any help or assistance is required.
• Girl Students can also apply for the NAVYA Scheme of the Central Government, in which short-term skill training will be provided to eligible beneficiaries.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Government of Meghalaya will provide the following benefits to all eligible students from Class 11th to Ph.D under its Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme :-
  • Yearly Scholarship will be provided to Students from Class 11th to Ph.D
  • Scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per year to all eligible students will be provided directly in their bank account.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Yearly Scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per year will be provided to only those students who meet the following eligibility requirements of Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme of the Meghalaya Government :-
  • Beneficiary Student should be a Permanent Resident of Meghalaya.
  • All students studying in Class 11th to Ph.D are eligible.
  • Having a Valid Bank Account, Email Address and Mobile Number is Mandatory.
  • Beneficiary Student should have enrolled in a full-time regular course.
  • Students studying part-time or Correspondence Courses are not eligible to apply.
  • No minimum or maximum income limit is required.

Courses Eligible for Scholarship under this Scheme

• The educational courses mentioned below are eligible to receive financial assistance as a scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per year under the Meghalaya Government’s Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme :-
  

  Class 11th. Class 12th. All Graduation Courses. All Post-Graduation Courses. Ph.D Course. Diploma Course. Any Course from Class 11th to Ph.D is eligible for the Scholarship.

Eligible Recognized Institutions under the Scheme

• Scholarship under Meghalaya Government’s Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme will be provided to only those students who are currently studying in regular courses from any one of the below-mentioned recognized institutions :-
  

  Government Colleges, Institutes and Universities. Institutes of National Importance. Deemed Universities. NAAC/ NAB ‘A’ Accredited Private Universities. Central/ State Universities. Autonomous Colleges recognized by UGC. Institutions recognized under Section 2(f) and/ or 12(b) of the UGC Act. Private Professional Institutions affiliated to State or Central Universities. Government or Private Schools. (For Class 11th and Class 12th) Diploma Granting Institutions recognized by the State/ UT. NCVT-affiliated Vocational Training Institutes. Institutes recognized by regulatory bodies like MCI, AICTE, etc.

• Beneficiary Students will need the following documents at the time of applying online for the yearly scholarship under the Meghalaya Government’s Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme :-
  

  Bank Passbook or Cancelled Cheque. Bonafide Certificate of Meghalaya. Self Declaration. Recent Color Passport-Size Photo. Latest Marksheet of Examination. Mobile Number and Email. Any One Card :- MHIS Card. MGNREGA Job Card. Voter Identity Card. PDS/ Ration Card.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Beneficiary Student can apply online for a yearly scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per year under the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme, Meghalaya Government.
• The government has a dedicated portal named Meghalaya One through which applicant students can apply online for the scholarship scheme of the Meghalaya Government.
• Visit the Meghalaya One Portal and Click on Services.
  
• Search for the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme and click on it.
  
• Detailed information about the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme will appear on the screen.
• Students will have to make sure that they are eligible for a scholarship before applying.
• Click on Login to Apply to apply for the CM Scholarship Scheme of the Meghalaya Government.
  
• A small instruction window will appear from which applicant students will have to click on Register as a New User.
  
• There are two ways to Sign Up on Meghalaya One Portal: first is through PDS/ Ration Card Number and the other is through Election Photo Identity Card.
  
• Choose any one method, enter the ID number and click on Authenticate.
• Fill in all the details asked in the registration form and submit it.
• After Registration, Sign in with your Mobile Number, EPIC Number or Member ID.
  
• Choose the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2025 after logging in and filling out the online application form.
• Applicant Students will have to fill in the personal details, contact details, bank account details, and education-related details in the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme Online Application Form.
• Upload all the required documents on the portal in the PDF format.
• Preview the filled application form once and click on the submit button to submit it.
• Submitted Online Application Forms of the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme will be verified by the Education Department Officials.
• Selected Students will receive the yearly scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- under the Meghalaya Government’s Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme.
• Beneficiary Students can apply online from September 1, 2025.
• Government extended the last date to apply for Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme 2025 to 31st of September 2025.
