Introduction of Madhya Pradesh Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana: A Brief Insight

  • Madhya Pradesh Government launched Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana on 14th of April 2025.
  • Earlier, the name of this scheme was “Pashupalan Vikas Yojana”.
  • The main objective of the government behind starting this scheme is to provide business opportunities to unemployed youth of the State, to increase milk production and strengthen the economic condition of farmers.
  • Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana is implemented by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying of the Madhya Pradesh Government.
  • In this scheme, financial support will be provided to those farmers who are interested in setting up a new dairy farm unit.
  • Any cattle farmer can spend a maximum of 42 lakh for setting up of dairy farm unit and avail the benefit of subsidy and loan from the Madhya Pradesh Government under Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana.
  • Beneficiary applicants from the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe categories will get a subsidy of 33% of the cost of the dairy unit and other applicants will get 25% of the cost of the dairy unit.
  • The remaining cost of the dairy farm unit is available as a loan from Canara Bank.
  • The purpose of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana is to support cattle farmers financially so that they can construct the cattle shed, purchase high-yielding milch cattle, insure their cattle, cover the cost of transportation and insure their constructed shed.
  • The cost of setting up a dairy farm under Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana is 36 lakh for Indian High Breed Cows and Rs. 42 Lakh each for Cross Bred Cows and Buffaloes.
  • Financial Assistance under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme of the MP Government will be disbursed in 4 installments after approval of the application.
  • It is mandatory to have a minimum of 3.5 acres of Agricultural Land to avail the benefit of this scheme.

  • Cattle Farmers can also explore the “Pashudhan Bima Yojana” of the MP Government in which they can insure their cattle.
    And, if farmers have cultivable agricultural
    land, then they can also avail the benefit of Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana in which additional financial assistance will be provided to eligible beneficiaries.

Loan Installment Disbursement Process

  • Loan under Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana will be disbursed to beneficiaries in 4 installment stages, which are mentioned below :-

    1st Installment
    • Time :- First Month.
    • Purpose :- For Shed Construction.
    • For Indigenous Cattle Breed :- Rs. 11 Lakh.
    • For Hybrid Cows/ Buffaloes :- Rs. 11.40 Lakh.
    2nd Installment
    • Time :- Fourth Month.
    • Purpose :- 9 Animal Purchase, Insurance. Transportation.
    • For Indigenous Cattle Breed :- Rs. 9 Lakh.
    • For Hybrid Cows/ Buffaloes :- Rs. 11 Lakh.
    3rd Installment
    • Time :- Tenth Month.
    • Purpose :- 8 Animal Purchase, Insurance. Transportation.
    • For Indigenous Cattle Breed :- Rs. 8 Lakh.

Benefits of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana MP

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

  • Madhya Pradesh Government, under its Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, will provide the following benefits to all eligible cattle/ livestock farmers of the State :-
    • Financial Support to Cattle Farmers to set up Dairy Farms.
    • Benefits will apply to a maximum of 42 lakh cost.
    • SC, ST applicants will receive a subsidy of 33% Cost of the Dairy Farm.
    • General Category Applicant will receive 25% Cost of the Dairy Farm.
    • Remaining Cost of the Dairy Farm is available as a Loan.
    • The beneficiary can set up a 1 Unit Dairy Farm of 25 cattle.
    • One Applicant is Eligible to open a maximum of 8 units of dairy farms of a maximum of 200 cattle.
    • Next Unit Application will be accepted after 2 years of setting up of first unit and subject to repayment of the loan.
    • Loan Repayment Period is 7 Years.
    • Credit Card will also be provided to Farmers at a zero interest rate.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • Subsidy on setting up a Dairy Farm will be provided to only those cattle farmers of Madhya Pradesh who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana :-
    • Permanent Resident Farmers of Madhya Pradesh are Eligible to Apply.
    • The Minimum Age of the Applicant should be 21 years.
    • The applicant should have a minimum of 3.5 Acres of Agricultural Land for the Dairy Unit. (1 Unit is of 25 Cattle)
    • Livestock Farmers belong to all categories, such as SC, ST and others; all are Eligible.
    • Priority in selection will be provided to those Cattle Farmers who are already supplying milk under the milk unions.
    • Bank Defaulters are not eligible to apply.
    • Dairy Farm should be set up for All Cross Bred Cows or Indigenous Cows or All Buffaloes, No Mixing of Breeds of Cattle Animals Allowed.
    • Cattle Farmer will have to take training in Dairy Farming from the Government or a government-nominated institute.
    • Cattle Farmers will have to purchase the animals from outside the state.

    • Voter Identity Card.
    • Mobile Number.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

  • Eligible Farmers of Madhya Pradesh can apply for Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana through Online Application Form.
  • Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana has a dedicated portal through which beneficiary farmers can apply for financial assistance to set up a dairy unit.
  • Visit the Portal and Click on Sign Up.

  • Beneficiary Applicant will have to enter his/ her Aadhaar Card.

  • Madhya Pradesh Government selects the applicant under this scheme for setting up a dairy farm of a minimum of 25 cattle on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Benefits of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana will be disbursed to selected beneficiaries in 4 installments as per the stage of dairy setup.
