NAVYA (Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls) is an initiative of the Central Government in which short-term vocational skill training will be provided to young adolescent girls. Girls aged 16 to 18 years who have passed Class 10 are eligible to receive skill training under this scheme.

Introduction of the NAVYA Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Central Government launched one of the prominent schemes named “NAVYA Scheme”.
- The full name of this scheme is “Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls”.
- As the name suggests, this scheme is specifically for young and adolescent girls who are between the ages of 16 to 18.
- NAVYA Scheme was launched on 24-06-2025 jointly by Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary and Smt. Savitri Thakur in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh.
- It is a pilot project launched with an initiative to empower girls with skills, pour confidence in them and create opportunities for them and make them self-reliant.
- Navya Scheme will be implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
- This scheme is designed to train eligible young girl beneficiaries in vocational skill training in non-traditional courses.
- Free of cost Vocational Skill Training under the NAVYA Scheme will be provided to adolescent young girls in Professional Makeup Artist, Drone Assembly Expert, Graphic Designing, CCTV Installation Expert and Smartphone Technician.
- As the NAVYA Scheme is a pilot initiative of the Central Government so initially this scheme will be implemented in 9 States, which are identified by NITI Aayog as aspirational which are :-

- Selected young girls under the NAVYA Scheme will be trained through Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Kendras.
- Apart from vocational skill training under NAVYA Yojana, beneficiary young girls will also receive a 7-hour supplementary training module in the following areas :-

- The application process of the NAVYA (Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls) Scheme is not clear yet, but it is expected that applications will be submitted at the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana Kendras.
- At the launch of the NAVYA Yojana, certificates will also be provided to PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana and PM Vishwakarma Yojana trained beneficiaries.

- Central Government under its NAVYA Scheme (Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls) will provide the below mentioned benefits to all eligible young girls aged between 16 to 18 years :-
- Short-term skill Training will be provided to Young Girls.
- 7-Hour Training Module.
- Vocational Training in Non-Traditional Courses and Emerging Job Roles.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Short-term vocational skill training under the NAVYA Scheme of the Central Government will be provided to those applicants who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of scheme :-
- Young Adolescent Girls.
- Age should be between 16 to 18 years.
- The girl should have passed the Class 10th Examination.
Documents Required to be Attached
- The following expected documents will be required at the time of enrolling for short-term skill training under the Central Government’s NAVYA Scheme :-
- Class 10th Marksheet.
- Aadhaar Card.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- NAVYA Scheme was launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development on 24th of June 2025.
- At present, the application process of the NAVYA Scheme is not clear yet.
- But it is expected that the application process of the NAVYA Scheme will be the same as the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
- Enrollment under the NAVYA Scheme will be done through an Application Form and a training centre will be allocated to selected young girls after verification.
- Vocational Training to selected girls will be provided at PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana Kendras.
- Beneficiary Young Girls can also apply for the NAVYA Scheme by visiting their nearest Pradhan Mantri Kausal Vikas Yojana Kendra.
- In the upcoming days, if any update or information regarding the NAVYA Yojana is released, we will update the same.
