Introduction of Subhadra Scheme Odisha: A Brief Insight
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Subhadra Scheme in Odisha on the 17th of September 2024.
- The main objective of the Odisha Government behind launching this scheme in the state is to empower women financially and make them self-reliant in terms of money.
- This scheme is implemented by Women and Child Development Department of Odisha Government.
- Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- under the Subhadra Scheme to all eligible women beneficiaries disbursed in a time period of 5 years.
- Each year for 5 years, women beneficiaries will get financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
- Rs, 10,000/- per year will also disbursed to women beneficiaries in 2 equal installments of Rs. 5,000/- each.
- The first Installment of the Subhadra Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of women beneficiaries on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th of March every year.
- And the second installment of the Subhadra Scheme will disbursed to women beneficiaries on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan every year.
- Subhadra ATM cum Debit Card will also be provided to women beneficiaries to boost digital transactions.
- Any woman beneficiary who has a maximum digital transaction in a year will get an incentive of Rs. 500/- under the Subhadra Scheme.
- From each Gram Panchayat and Urban Local Body, 100 women beneficiaries will be selected for incentives on digital transactions.
- Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- for 5 years will only provided to those women beneficiaries who are permanent residents of Odisha and whose ages is between 21 years to 60 years.
- Apart from that, Families who have NFSA or SFSS Ration Cards are only eligible.
- If any family doesn’t have an NFSA or SFSS Ration Card, they are also eligible to apply for the Subhadra Scheme if their annual family income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/- in a year.
- Financial Assistance under the Subhadra Scheme will be transferred directly in the Aadhaar Linked Bank Account of the female beneficiary.
- Odisha Government also launched the Official Website of the Subhadra Scheme in which complete information about the scheme is available.
- The government of Odisha expected that around 1 crore women beneficiaries would get the benefit of financial assistance under this scheme.
- This Scheme is only operational for 5 years from 2024-2025 to 2028-2029.
- This scheme is also known by some other famous names also which are “Subhadra Yojana Odisha” or “Subhadra Jojana Odisha”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Each eligible women beneficiary of State will the the following benefits from the Odisha Government under the Subhadra Scheme :-
- Women Beneficiary will get Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- for 5 Years.
- Each Year Women Beneficiary will get Rs. 10,000/- under the Subhadra Scheme.
- This Rs. 10,000/- per year will also disbursed in 2 equal installments of Rs. 5,000/- each.
- First Installment will be provided on International Women’s Day on 8th March and Second Installment will provide on Raksha Bandhan.
- For Digital Transactions, Subhadra ATM-cum-Debit Card will also given to Women Beneficiary.
- 100 Women Beneficiaries in each Gram Panchayat/ Urban Local Body will get an additional incentive of Rs. 500/- for maximum digital transactions in the year.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Government of Odisha sets the following eligibility conditions for women beneficiaries in order to provide them the benefit of yearly financial assistance under the Subhadra Scheme :-
- Beneficiary should be a Woman who is a Permanent Resident of Odisha.
- The Age of Women Beneficiaries should be more than 21 years and less than 60 years.
- Women Beneficiary Date of Birth should be between 02/07/1964 to 01/07/2003.
- Having National Food Security Ration Card (NFSA) or State Food Security Scheme Ration Card (SFSS) is mandatorily required.
- If Any Women Beneficiary doesn’t have an NFSA or SFSS Ration Card then she is also eligible to apply if her family annual income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Ineligibility Conditions
- If any women beneficiary falls within the ambit of any of the below-mentioned ineligibility criteria of the Subhadra Scheme then she is not eligible to apply for financial assistance :-
- If any woman is a beneficiary of any pension or scholarship scheme in which she is receiving Rs. 1,500/- per month assistance is not eligible.
- State or Central Government Employee. (Both Retired or Serving)
- If any member of a family is an income tax payee.
- If a woman’s family has a former or current MP or MLA.
- If the Beneficiary Women Family has more than 10 Acres of Non-Irrigated Land or 5 Acres of Irrigated Land.
- If Family has 4 wheeler vehicle. (Tractors, Mini Trucks, and Small Commercial Vehicle are exempted)
Documents Required to be Attached
- Documents that are required to be attached at the time of applying for financial assistance of 50,000/- for 5 years under Subhadra Scheme of Odisha Government are mentioned below :-
- Domicile or Residence Proof of Odisha.
- Aadhar Card of Women Beneficiary.
- Bank Account Details.
- NFSA/ SFSS Card.
- Certificate of Income. (Not older than 6 months)
- Caste Certificate.
- Mobile Number.
- 1 Passport Size Photo.
How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Women Beneficiaries who are not registered under the Subhadra Scheme of the Odisha Government can register themselves till 31st of March 2025.
- Registration of Women will be done through the Offline Application Form.
- Application Forms can be collected free of cost from any of the below-mentioned offices :-
- Common Service Centres.
- Anganwadi Centres.
- Block Offices.
- Urban Local Bodies Offices.
- MO Seva Kendras.
- Gram Panchayat/ Sabha Office.
- Collect the Application Form of the Subhadra Scheme and Fill it correctly without making any mistake.
- Attach all the required documents with the Application Form.
- Now, Submit the Application Form and all relevant documents in the Common Service Centre or Mo Seba Kendra.
- Concerned Officials of the Department will verify the beneficiary women’s details from the Government Database.
- Selected Women Beneficiary will get financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- for 5 years in 5 installments of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
- Subhadra ATM-cum-Debit Card will also issued in the name of beneficiary women to facilitate financial transactions which can be collected from the Anganwadi Centre or Block Office.
- Beneficiary Women can check the Subhadra Scheme Application Status by Logging in with the help of her Aadhaar Number.
- If any woman beneficiary face any difficulty regarding the Subhadra Scheme then she can file an Online Complaint on the Official Website by entering their Aadhaar Number.
