The Punjab Government is providing a cash prize of up to Rs. 10,000 to lucky winners under the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme. This is for those who have asked for a GST bill for their purchase of goods or services and have uploaded it to the mobile app.

Introduction of Punjab Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Punjab Government started a unique scheme in September 2023 for the people of the State named “Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme”.
• It was earlier announced by Shri Harpal Singh Cheema, the Finance Minister of the Punjab Government, while presenting the budget for the year 2023-2024.
• Government of Punjab’s main aim in starting this scheme is to encourage the people of the state to demand bills from the shopkeepers/ dealers for their purchases so that the GST revenue of the government will increase.
• Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme is implemented by the Excise and Taxation Department of the Punjab Government.
• Through the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme, the Punjab Government is providing cash prizes to those selected lucky winners who take GST Bills at the time of purchasing or availing the service and upload it on the mobile app.
• Winners under this scheme will be selected through a lucky draw, which will be held on a monthly basis on the 7th of every month.
• Selected Lucky Winners will receive the cash prize of 5 times the taxable value of goods or services, with a maximum capping of Rs. 10,000/- under Bill Leyao Inam Pao Scheme.
• Only Business-to-Customers (B2C) GST Bills are eligible to be uploaded on the mobile app, no Business-to-Business (B2B) GST Bills are eligible.
• Also, the GST bill of the purchase of petroleum products like crude oil, natural gas, aviation turbine fuel, petrol, diesel, liquor, bill from out-of-state purchases are not eligible for consideration under the Punjab Government’s Bill Lao Inam Pao Scheme.
• More than 1.76 lakh bills have been uploaded since the launch of the scheme and 3.36 crore cash prize money has been distributed by the Punjab Government to 5,644 winners.
• Also, penalties of 9.1 crore is levied on tax violators, out of which 7.31 crore is already recovered.
• Lucky Draw for July 2025 is also conducted on 7th of August 2025 in Patiala in which 6,345 bills were uploaded on the mobile app and 257 winners are selected through a lucky draw for a cash prize under Bill Liyao Inam Pao Yojana of the Government of Punjab.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Punjab Government under its Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme, will provide the following benefits to the winners of the lucky draw :-
  • Financial Award/ Cash Prize will be provided to the Selected Winners.
  • Cash Prize of 5 times the Taxable Value of Goods or Service in the bill with a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- is payable to the lucky draw winner.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Government of Punjab sets the following eligibility criteria for in order to take part in the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme :-
  • Participants will have to upload only the Business to Consumer GST/Non-GST Bill.
  • The minimum amount of the bill should be Rs. 200/-.
  • Bills issued by Shopkeepers or Dealers of Punjab are Eligible for uploading.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The documents that are required at the time of registration in the mobile app and at the time of availing the benefits of the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme of the Government of Punjab are mentioned below :-
  • GST Bill in Original.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Email ID.
  • PAN Card.
  • Applicant Aadhaar Card.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Residents of Punjab can take part in the government’s Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme and get a chance to win a cash prize.
• Punjab Government has an Official Mobile Application of the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme for both Android and IOS, through which participants upload the GST bills.
• Visit the Play Store or IOS Apple Store and Download the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme Mobile App.
  
• Mera Bill, Taxation Department Punjab, written interface will appear on the screen after downloading the official app, click on Get Started.
  
• Thereafter, click on Register.
  
• Participants will have to register themselves first on the mobile app by entering the below-mentioned information :-
  
• Bill Liao Inam Pao Scheme Mobile App will verify the participant’s mobile number through OTP authentication.
• After successful verification, log in again on the mobile app with your Mobile Number.
  
• Participants will have to upload the details of the GST or Non-GST Bill on the Official Mobile App of the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme. Some of the details are mentioned below :-
  • GST Number
  • Bill Amount
  • Bill Number
  • Enter Shop/ Dealer City
  • Date of Bill.
• It is also mandatory to upload the original GST bill photo on the app.
• Click on the submit button after filling in all the details and uploading the bill.
• Punjab Government will verify each GST bill and conduct a lucky draw on the 7th day of every month, in which a lucky participant will be selected.
• Each selected participant will receive a cash prize up to Rs. 10,000/- under the Bill Liyao Inam Pao Scheme of the Punjab Government.
• Result of the Lucky Draw of Bill Leyao Inam Pao Scheme can be seen on the Mobile App under the Lucky Draw option.
