Introduction of Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme: A Brief Insight
- In the financial year 2024, Government of Odisha started a much needed welfare schemes for Schedule Tribe Students.
- By resolution dated 09-10-2024, a new scheme named “Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme” is launched in Odisha State.
- Odisha Government’s Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme is specifically launched for Schedule Tribe Students.
- The other prominent name of this scheme is “Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Yojana”.
- The main aim behind starting this scheme is to reduce the school drop out rate of ST Students by providing them financial support as a scholarship.
- ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department of Odisha Government is the responsible department of this scheme.
- Schedule Tribe Students who just passed Class 8th and Class 10th and going to take admission in Class 9th and Class 11th will get one time financial assistance as scholarship under this scheme.
- Scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- to every eligible Schedule Tribe Student will be provided at the time of enrollement by Odisha Government under Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme.
- Students enrolled in Government or Government Aided Schools are only eligible to get this one time scholarship.
- If the annual family income of student is more than Rs. 2.5 Lakh in a year then he/she is not eligible to avail the benefit of scholarship under this scheme.
- Apart from that Students of Private High or Higher Secondary Schools are also not eligible to get scholarship under Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme.
- Government of Odisha allocated a budget of Rs. 156/- Crore for the smooth implementation of this scheme.
- Scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- provided under this scheme will be directly credited in the aadhar linked bank account of beneficiary student.
- Eligibility Criteria, Application Status along with other official details of Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme can be checked on State Scholarship Portal of Odisha Government.
- Beneficiary Students can not apply on their own in order to get the scholarship under this scheme.
- Submit Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, Bank Account Details and Aadhar Card in school then Principal or Head Master will fill Online Application Form of Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme on Odisha State Scholarship Portal.
- Students can submit their documents in their school till 31st of December 2024.
- This means the last date to apply for Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme Scholarship is 28-02-2025.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiary Students
- Government of Odisha will provide the below mentioned benefits to all eligible ST Students of Class 9th and Class 11th under its Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme :-
- One Time Financial Assistance will be Provided to all Schedule Tribe Students.
- Rs. 5,000/- Scholarship will be Provided to Class 9th and Class 11th Students at the time of Admission.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- One time financial assistance of Rs. 5,000/- as a scholarship under Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme will be provided to only those students who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria :-
- Permanent Resident Students of Odisha are only Eligible to get Scholarship.
- Only Schedule Tribe/ ST Students are Eligible.
- The Family’s Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per year.
- Beneficiary Student should be in Class 9th or in Class 11th.
- Beneficiary Student should be studying in Government or Government Aided High/ Higher Secondary School.
Documents Required to be Attached
- Students will have to submit the below mentioned documents at their School in order to get the benefits of scholarship under Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme :-
- Students Aadhar Card.
- Certificate of Caste.
- Certificate of Income.
- Bank Passbook.
How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Government of Odisha did not give any facility to students to apply for scholarship under Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme by themselves.
- Students or their parents will have to submit the photo copies of Caste Certificate, Aadhar Card, Income Certificate and Bank Passbook to Head Master or Principal of their School.
- Odisha Government provided TABs to Head Masters/ Principal of all Government and Government Aided High Schools registered on State Scholarship Portal.
- Principal or Head Master of concerned school will sort out and make a list of all eligible ST students.
- In the given TAB, Head Master or Principal will enter all the required details of selected students found to be eligible for scholarship under Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme.
- Mandatory Documents will also have to be uploaded on the State Scholarship Portal of Odisha.
- After entering all the students data, Head Master/ Principal will verify the application and sanction it and forward it to Department for payment.
- ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department will verify the received applications and disburse the scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- directly in the bank account of students.
- Beneficiary Students can also check their Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme Application Status by entering their Aadhar Number or Application Number.
