Introduction of Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Dalit Bandu Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Government of Telangana.
- It was launched on 4 August 2021.
- The other name of this scheme is “Dalit Bandhu Pathakam”.
- The main aim behind launching Dalit Bandhu Scheme is to financially empower the Scheduled Caste people of Telangana.
- Under Dalit Bandhu Scheme, a One Time Financial Assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten Lakh Rupees Only) will be provided to people of Scheduled Caste to start the business of their own.
- This assistance will help them to start their own income generating business and they can become economically stronger.
- Only the people belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) Category are eligible to avail the benefit of Dalit Bandhu Scheme.
- There are 100 of sectors available to invest the money provided in this scheme which beneficiary can start and earn money.
- Some of them are Establishing of industry, Retail Sector, Transport Sector, Business Enterprise and other self employment sectors to invest the money.
- Telangana’s Department of Schedule Caste Development is the implementing Department of this scheme.
- The whole operational and implementing process is taken care by Telangana Scheduled Castes Co-Operative Development Corporation.
- Rs. 10 lakh is an assistance provided by Telangana Government to SC Category beneficiaries under Dalit Bandhu Scheme to start their business, so there is no need to return this money back to government.
- Also there will be no collateral security is required in order to get money under this scheme.
- Eligible Beneficiaries can apply through Dalit Bandhu Scheme Application Form by submitting it to the Schedule Caste Department Office.
- Apart from that Beneficiary can also avail the benefit of other Telangana Government welfare scheme which are “Mahalakshmi Scheme” which is specifically for women and “Gruha Jyothi Scheme”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- The Government of Telangana will provide the following benefit to all eligible beneficiaries under its Dalit Bandhu Scheme:-
- One-time financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten Lakh Rupees Only) will be Provided.
- No Collateral is Required Because it is an Assistance not a Loan.
- No need to pay back the amount. It will provided by the Government of Telangana not by any bank.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- The following eligibility conditions will be set by the Telangana Government in order to provide the benefits of Dalit Bandhu Scheme to all beneficiaries :-
- Permanent Residents of Telangana are Only Eligible.
- Person belonging to Schedule Caste Category. (SC Category).

- Residence Proof of the Applicant.
- Aadhar Card of Applicant.
- Mobile Number of Applicant.
- Rice Card or Food Card of Family.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- In the initial phase of Dalit Bandhu Scheme, beneficiary were choosen by the District Monitoring Committee.
- Committee was headed by the District Collector.
- But now the Application Process of Dalit Bandhu Scheme is fully changed.
- Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for Dalit Bandhu Scheme through Application Form which is collected from the Office of Gram Sabha or Municipal Corporation or from the Office of Schedule Caste Department.
- Fill the application form and attached all the required documents.
- Submit the Application Form in the Office of Gram Sabha or Municipal Corporation or Schedule Caste Department Office.
- The Application Form and Documents will be verified by the officials.
- The information of acceptance or rejection of application form will be sent to beneficiary through SMS.
- After final approval and submittance of project/ business proposal, the financial assistance will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary.
Key Features of Dalit Bandhu Scheme
- The amount transferred to beneficiary will be Rs. 9,90,000/- (Nine Lakh Ninety Thousand Rupees Only).
- The remaining Rs.10,000/- (Ten Thousand Rupees) will be transferred in the account of Dalit Rakshan Nidhi.
- The quotation of business is mandatory to submit, thereafter the financial assistance will get approved.
- There is no need to pay back the amount. Also there is no interest to be payable.
