Introduction of Tripura Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Government of Tripura had launched the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana on 1st of April 2021.
• The main objective of the government behind launching this scheme is to support the grieving families financially on the death of a family member to perform funeral rites.
• Through this initiative of the government, the one time financial grant will be provided to meet the incidental expenses related to cremation/ burial.
• Tripura Government’s Social Welfare and Social Education is the implementing department of this scheme.
• One-time cash assistance will be provided to the next of kin or closed family member for the funeral expenses by the Tripura Government under Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana.
• Cremation Expenses of Rs. 10,000/- will be provided by the government as immediate assistance to conduct the cremation of the deceased family member.
• Only Antyodaya Families who are also permanent residents of Tripura are eligible to receive funeral expenses under the Chief Minister Antyodaya Shradhanjali Scheme.
• An application written on plain paper will be submitted in Anganwadi Centre to get financial assistance under this scheme.
• The CDPO will immediately sanction the amount of Rs. 10,000/- and direct the Anganwadi Worker to give cash assistance to the applicant under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Scheme.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Tripura Government through its Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana will provide the following assistance to the next of kin in case of the demise of a family member belonging to Antyodaya Family :-
  • One Time Financial Assistance will be provided for funeral expenses.
  • Rs. 10,000/- will be provided to the next of kin for expenses related to the burial of a deceased family member.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 10,000/- for burial expenses on the death of an individual will be provided to only those applicants who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana of the Tripura Government :-
  • The deceased individual should be a Permanent Resident of Tripura.
  • Benefit of the scheme should only be available for Antyodaya Families.
  • Applicant from all ages are eligible to receive assistance.
  • Next of Kin or Nearest Family Member will receive the cremation assistance in case of the death of a family member.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The following documents will be required at the time of applying for financial assistance for cremation as promised by the Government of Tripura under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana :-
  • Antyodaya Ration Card.
  • Aadhaar Card of the Deceased.
  • Aadhaar Card of the Applicant.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Recent Colour Photo.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Grieving Family Members of the deceased can apply for financial assistance for cremation under Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana through the Application Form.
• Next of Kin of a deceased family member will have to write an application on plain paper.
• Attach the Antyodaya Ration Card which shows the name of the deceased family member, with it.
• Certify the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana from :-
  • In Rural Areas :- Gaon Pradhan.
  • In Urban Areas :- Ward Member.
  • TTAADC Areas :- Chairperson of the Village Committee.
• Submit the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana Application Form along with all the documents in the Anganwadi Centre.
• The Child Development Project Officer will sanction the grant on the receipt of the application and direct the Anganwadi Worker to release the payment in cash.
• Contact the Anganwadi Worker in case any help or assistance is required regarding the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shradhanjali Yojana of the Tripura Government.
