Introduction of Tripura Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Tripura Government had launched one of the most prominent social welfare schemes for Antyodaya Families named “Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana. (MKBY)
• It is a marriage assistance scheme for girl belonging to Antyodaya Families and its main objective is to provide the required financial support to economically weaker families.
• Social Welfare and Social Education of the Tripura Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Tripura Government, through its Mukhyamantri Konya Bibhaha Yojana will provide the financial incentive for marriage to those brides who belong to Antyodaya and Economically Weaker Families.
• Rs. 50,000/- as a marriage assistance will be provided to each eligible brides under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Scheme of the Tripura Government.
• Brides from Antyodaya Families whose age is 18 years or more at the time of marriage is eligible to receive financial assistance for marriage under this scheme.
• The benefits of one-time financial assistance for marriage under this scheme will be provided to 2 girls per family.
• Government of Tripura allocated Rs. 10/- Crore in the year 2025-2026 for the smooth implementation of Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana in which 2,000 families per year are expected to receive the benefit of Rs. 50,000/- for marriage.
• No Online Application Form or Official Website of Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana is available at this moment.
• The beneficiary bride will have to fill out the offline application form which is available in the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) to avail the benefit of assistance for marriage.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Tripura Government will provide the following benefits to all eligible brides of the state under its Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana :-
  • Financial Assistance for Marriage will be provided.
  • Each Bride will receive Rs. 50,000/- assistance for their marriage.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- as an incentive for the marriage will be provided to those beneficiaries who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana of the Government of Tripura :-
  • Permanent Resident Applicants of Tripura is Eligible to Apply.
  • The Age of the Bride should be 18 years or above.
  • The Age of the Bride should be 21 years or above.
  • Girl Bride should belong to the Antyodaya Family.
  • Registration of Marriage is mandatory.
  • One Time Assistance will be provided to girls and is applicable to 2 girls per family.
  • The government will cover around 2000 brides per year.

Documents Required to be Attached

• All eligible beneficiary applicants will have to attach the following documents with the Application Form at the time of applying for marriage assistance under the Tripura Government’s Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana :-
  

  Permanent Residence Certificate of Tripura. Passport-size photo of the Bride and Groom. Aadhaar Card of the Bride and Groom. Any One Age Proof of Bride :- Birth Certificate. Leaving Certificate. Antyodaya Ration Card of a Family. Age Proof of Bride and Groom. Self Declaration Form regarding Marital Status. Mobile Number. Bank Account Details with IFSC Code.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Beneficiary Brides can apply for financial assistance for marriage of Rs. 50,000/- under the Tripura Government’s Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana by applying through the Application Form.
• Mukhyamantri Konya Bibaha Yojana Application Form can be collected free of cost from the Office of Child Development Project Officer.
• Take the application form from the CDPO Office and fill in all the required information correctly.
• Attach all the documents to the application form.
• Submit Mukhyamantri Konya Bibhaha Yojana Application Form along with all the documents to the same office of the Child Development Project Officer.
• CDPO will accept the application forms and verify the details.
• A list of eligible brides will be made as per the eligibility criteria and the list will then be forwarded to the Sub Divisional Magistrate within 15 days.
• SDM will reverify the applicant details and transfer the marriage assistance amount of Rs. 50,000/- directly into the bank account of the bride.
• Applicant Brides can file a grievance to the District Magistrate & Collector in case any help or assistance is required regarding Tripura Government’s Chief Minister Konya Bibaha Yojana.
